The Game

THE GAME

Here's to the game
of men and their ball.
The helmeted warriors
of winter and fall.

Explode off the line
with a thunderous crack.
Bust through blockades,
and pushing them back

Cover the field,
defend from attack.
Holding the line,
and making the sack.

Advancing position
with power and speed.
Get slamed to the ground,
got no time to bleed.

Flying down field
at incredible paces,
grab bombs from the air,
and off tips of shoe laces.

Giving the order,
making the read,
the rarest of athletes,
a talent to lead.

Engaging attackers,
forging the hole,
protecting their leader,
the heart and the soul.

heat, snow, or rain,
blood, sweat, and tears,
fighting through pain,
attack without fear.

For their city, the peolpe,
their brothers, their name.
Most important of all
for love of the game.

With prowess, and grit,
they give it their all,
for the ultimate honor,
enshrined in the hall.

A day at the bowls

A perfect summers day with the sky turquoise blue
A faint breeze through the trees and pink flowers in bloom
Out on the green they are dressed in their best.
Bright team colours, we expect nothing less.
At the start of the game they gather and stay.
Til someone in charge shouts out “Let’s play”.
The grass is so dry the bowls speed down the green.
Looking out from the pavilion a classic summer scene.
The bowls clack together as they fight for the jack.
Each rink changes sides back and forth, forth and back.
The game draws to a close and it’s on a knife edge.
Our team steals the show with one point ahead.
It’s time for tea after a grand day of fun.
Some opt for a pint and a fresh saffron bun.

Swish-Stuff?
they used the same
format as tradition basket ball
all the rules are the same
up until about 2001 in the nba
they use a concept were
three men on both team starts the game with a coin flip
"the roundos Monto" period is a 4;00 minute addition
that starts on the visiter side with the coinflip winner
with the ball.
all points are added to the regular game.
after the 4;00 period the game will start with a jump ball
in a game with alot of fouls the referee can take one point of the players
score. The concept is done to reintroduce the players and teams before the actaul game begans it is a fan and television interest idea that is used
to create the interest into the actual game ,sequenses and processes.
It's great because ateam can use playrs who are usaully benched
to showcase there talents.
the three on three aspect is unquie it allow to o learn and compare and discuss neaunce verses traditional concepts.

Basketball Match

Lift voice on air
Yell last hurrahs
Ball not come in.

Powerless jump
Tall guy rebound
Ball on long hand.

Point guard dribble
Pair by pair watch
Clock is ticking.

Score tied match
Desperate move
One sunk the three.

Carpal tunnel twinges
punctuate a torpid afternoon,
as row on row we line the aisles
and stare at nothing
with the guarded anonymity
of urinating men.

My thumb is on the lever,
moving almost imperceptibly,
as marbles rocket into space
and filter down
through obstacles designed
to keep the management in business.

The captive of a chain reaction
freed from craving by acceptance
of the preordained,
I decompose, am compromised,
incorporated by the convolutions
of this artificial universe.

But something breaks
the moment I let go.
The single thread
that holds the world in place is cut,
and once again I fall away
with all my individual needs exposed.

Proud Moment

It doesn't matter whether
You come first or second
The difference is this:
Did you try your best
Sometimes we win
Sometimes we loss
This is part of life.

Chess

I love chess
This is my favorite game
Whenever I play it, I am bless
Make friends on the game is my aim.

I learn chess
When I was fourteen
Since then I play it and never cease
To play my entire life in between.

I play chess
Whenever I'm sad
It's my therapy for stress
I play also when I'm glad.

I treat chess
As strategy to cope everyday strife
There are roles of every piece
On board that is relatable to life.

I believe chess
Originated in India I was told
As a way of life, the game is played for peace
Propagated in Persia and the rest of the world.

I want chess
In every sports news column
I want to see it played in plaza, in mall or any place
I want it included in program for educational curriculum.

I find chess
Fascinating, intellectual and fun game
It give me peace and happiness
And a little claim of fame.

Premium MemberLet The Olympic Games Begin

Let's all celebrate
Motivate and innovate
Let's all have incredible fun
The one that will last more than a lifetime
Every four years, it is that time
Again and again, let's us sprint, jump, run
Like happy rabbits, like flying cheetahs
Let's us enjoy all sports and the hoopla
Let's witness and win the gold medals
Many records will be broken
It is about doing our best and to have fun
Let's bring the torch, the flowers and the petals
Let's bring the doves, the love and the sandals
These are the Olympics, let's unite forever
And laugh all the way to the river
The bikers are coming, the rowers are here
Let's have the party of the century
Let's watch the volleyball players
Invite the drunkards and the smokers
Who are already sadly out of breath
Let's pray that they don't see an early death
Let's win the medals
And decorate the stadiums with lights and petals
May the world remain beautiful
Where there are no weak losers, only strong winners
May the world remain peaceful and wonderful
Where there are no lousy losers, only lovely winners.

Sports stars these days
  get paid millions to play
little boys and little girls games

Yet jobs that only adults can do
sports stars are wont to eschew

In the Heat

I won a chess game in the heat, they say that
chess players are nerds, like Robert the rat,
he comes into my garden, can't escape my black cat,
persistence pays off or rather down like a brown splat.

I won a bridge game in the heat, they say that
not everyone is suited, like England going into bat,
the wicket-keeper waddled out of his crease, too fat,
I would have stayed, no devils on my shoulders sat.

I won a tennis match, I had my wrong way round hat,
played the ladies mixed - all they do is pit - a - pat,
I won a bowls match, went and slipped on the mat,
alll these games, I think I'll just stick to baccarat.

They can't beat me, I'm too hot, ever since I came,
only one choice left - I think I'll play the blame game.
