a kiss
a
symbol
of
love nouveau
suggestive
yet
of time
&
immemorial
love upon
a cloud
of gold
lost in
moment
where time
does not
exist
One
with the other
alone
& yet..
desire..
and need
together
then
exist
Wintry winds and the swirling snow
Paint freezing friezes on the peasant panes
Tongues tease, warm bated breathing
Draw designs with perfect puffs of air
Lovely lines, simple shades
Girly giggles; lively laughter
Merry making frolicking fun

Ice
Swirls
Freezing
Cold patterns
On opaque window
Panes during colder winter nights
Delight young children who draw designs blowing warm breath
Until the hot sun melts the friezes, erasing their simple artistic endeavors.

“To die, to sleep—
No more—and by a sleep to say we end!”
_Shakespeare /Hamlet: Act 3, scene 1/
Likewise a pilgrim
(like all of us)
in that equilibrium autumn
I walk on an echo
of an ancient laughter.
Echoing
among friezes and statues,
and alabaster
as every laughter
careless. Of
a heart in love.
I do not know me. I shan’t remember.
My children were bathed in the dew of night.
And bread, they ate from my palm.
My blood shan’t be redeemed by anybody.
And I don’t want them
to drink my dust.
On the red road
the man is going
like a fiery bloomed rose.
