The Reminder

There are many things that remind me of you.
Every time the sun sets,
And the sky paints itself in thousands of colors,
I see you.

The songs you once played,
They still linger in my playlist.
They set my mood and carry me back in time,
As if I am living it all over again.

Sometimes, strangers walk by
Wearing your fragrance.
For a moment, I freeze,
Thinking you might be somewhere near.

That café corner,
And the ever-changing taste of its hazelnut frappe,
Every sip reminds me
Of your quirky expressions.

And the streets
Where you used to walk me home,
Still make me feel
That you might return and hold my hand.

These reminders
Gently tell me
I once lived something
That is truly beautiful.

     Stay loose
     as goose

     Uptight
     can't write

     Quick nap
     sip frappe

     Smile wide
     hit stride

Premium MemberI Want One of Those

I ordered a caramel latte
But changed my mind when I saw the minty frappe
Is it too late to….
No, the friendly barista told me.
She put the latte aside and began anew.
A soda jerk next to her handed another customer a rainbow drink.
A RAINBOW DRINK!
I want one of those, I told my barista.
She no longer looked so friendly.
“Too,” I added.

Oh My Dear Frappe

Oh my dear Frappe I love you so
Oh my sweet stalker kitty
Your heart just said no
And at the end you were all giddy

My sweet sweet kitty
You were always so funny
The way you almost suffocated the lizard
And it was sad when you died during the blizzard

Oh my dear Frappe I love you so
I love your giant bean toe
I love your fluffiness
I loved your niceness

I love your stalker tendencies
I love that you and the bear were enemies
I love your multi colered eyes
But unfortunely you had to cut ties

Oh my dear Frappe I love you so
I'm so sad you had to go
Oh my dear frappe I love you
I love you so

Premium MemberFrom Failure Fright

Fervent faith in the powerful Father God frees from fear of failure fright
Forward fleeing for protection-fortress from petty fretting fight
Faithfully praying midst fight’s plight of perfect plan’s fervor
Festively feeding along flowing peace-fulfilling flavor.

Fixed* on the Lord from frowning foolish pitfall’s frame
Favoring coffee frappe and froth in fellowship flame
Firstly finding forgiveness-fullness for life fruitful
Flexed against frustrations, fiercely forceful.

*Psalm 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Cyclades

they often
say hair and
fingernails grow
longer when one
is happily relaxed

they often say hair
and fingernails
grow longer
when one is
lifelessly

dead

my breathing has gone
from a shallow yawn
to something short
of a sigh
once i

stayed on
an isle and
a mirrorless
summer
simmered

passing by
my heart pacer
taking time as fast
as the mules
taking mail

to the cliff
topped town
of Thira
a turtle vs
snail race

sitting in a cafe
sipping a frappe
an hour into
drinking
when

someone's sound
broke my silence
asking how long
i'd grown my
beard

thoughts in Greek
and English speech
which of these
let me take
you down

to
Elysium's
Fields

of politics

my conscience speaks,
i tamper it down,
blend it with ice
and plenty of lies,
spin wild tales
of the frappe sea,
and make them drink.

this liquid amalgamation
is like the salty sea -
driving them mad,
filling them with dread,
waves lapping overhead,
killing them dead.

Sedoka Contest

So my aunts dying -
    a dispassionate aside
        over coffee, Saturday
No point in crying
    bitter death taken in stride
        and a sugary frappe

How fit the topic?
     Heated chemicals imbibe
        Caffeinating hollow sounds
Reflect myopic
Her death we fein to describe
         with muffins and coffee grounds

Rain

when the clouds turn gray the sky turns dark there’s no running because the rain doesn’t have eyes unlike the hills the rain can’t see more like cupid it is blind
when it rain everyone is getting wet rain doesn’t care if your white black or even a mocha frappe it doesn’t care if your rocking the new Jordan’s and that your hair just been tortured by chemicals and that you wore that new I love pink jogging suit that he really likes
rain doesn’t discriminate unlike that next door neighbor who watches your every movement because in their mind the darker the skin the more sticker the fingers are
Rain dosent stop because you decide to **** the world and be who you want cause no one else matter
Rain doesn’t fall upon those with lighter or darker skin it isn’t racist unlike that store clerks who guards who watches Hispanics because he know there history of sneaking in and out why can we be more like nature more like the rain

Whimsical Illusion

Distances separate tomorrow, today bother why?
City streets and shops, neon lights and mall crops,
highways and cars, cafe frappe and chocolate bars,
low rise denims to woo, funky earrings and chic shoes,
blackberry and fruit cherry, discos and bows,
their jazzy tops, my weekly flops,
their silence and my chop- chops,
trashed and caught up why?
foreign soil, a stranger tomorrow, today bother why?

Dreams manipulate tomorrow, today bother why?
Look down and frown, from where is this clown?
Hello friend, which town?
Why wear grandma's gown?
break limitations friend, come down,
eye to eye, away from money's sound,
Goodbye friend, different sky , distance noun,
overlook me friend, anticipate why?
Different people, views and news tomorrow, today regret why?

Audacious Antics

adjourn the circus for you have a child,
who is confounded between antics and love.
her umbrella have been beaten by the cold,
she wants to be hold and touched, forever-fold.

adjourn the circus for you have a child,
your audacious face-paint won’t last another smile.
ludicrous like the monkey who belongs in the wild,
take you last applause to find; they all did it to unwind.

adjourn the circus for you have a child,
your heart seem to tick out of chance
as you glister the ludicrous dance,
she begs you, to alter your stance.

a drop of pearl escapes,
and travels over the ghoulish landscape
of fractured love and tainted frappe,
to find a telescope in search for hope.
but once again she is only to find;
your soul still colorblind.

audacious antic,
adjourn the circus for you have a child.
