O Blessed Virgin Mary, our Lord's servant-- so humble
Hearing your Seven Sorrows makes my heart almost crumble
I wish to imitate your loving prayers (and not mumble)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The Virgin Mary, humble servant of the Lord, was
open to His every word and call. She was embraced by
Francis with indescribable love and declared the
protectress and advocate of his family. The Secular
Franciscans should express their ardent love for her by
imitating her complete self-giving and by praying
earnestly and confidently. "
Accept equality, admit to science
That you always believed -
Why wouldn’t love be free?
San Franciscans and summer lovers
Flocked here seeking illusion.
They saw pretty colors, but no truth.
I extended my hand, warmly
You grasped it, looking onward
To clover crowns and daisy chains.
There is no understanding of
The light in shaded eyes, or
Coy words slipped from tight lips.
Summers always end, she said.
We sighed, nodding off to dream,
Once more before the apocalypse.
City of Hearts and Home by the Bay
Day star's mist yields to its grip of a bridge,
Span steel strands, harp-like, golden tags a smidge,
Light drapes the streetcars, up and down the hills,
Chimes, mass speeches, music, and painted stills,
Juggling pantomimes, street fair atmosphere,
Haight and Ashbury crossing yesteryear,
Fisherman's Wharf nearby Pier 39,
Seafood platters and fine dining with wine,
Downtown Union Square, lunching alfresco,
Market Street, Tiffany's, a Broadway show,
San Franciscans, whenever we're in Rome,
Ideal for some, but we call this home.
Premium MemberMarina Green, San Francisco
Ah, my Marina Queen!
You, who reigns over the Marina with grass
so tantalizing, so verdantly green.
Holding costly homes that gaze over the
San Francisco Bay,
I adored the music of fog horns, and
could listen to them hight and day.
We all blessed by a mystical, silent drops of fog!
Embracing the Marina and we, your  most serene
residents ......all night long!
No tourists on the huge lawns, run!
They. unknowingly believe Pier 39 and souvenirs
are far more fun?
San Franciscans know the city far better than a
sleazy tourist attraction.
They love the unknown jazz and coffee haunts.
Smiling at one another in delightful satisfaction.
The overpowering scent of Eucalyptus trees,
The Japanese tea garden.
Souls that are totally free!
He Was the Man
Nineteen sixty was a wonderful year
Willie Mays was brought to Candlestick Park
It left New Yorkers with more than one tear
But San Franciscans remember that mark
I rushed to the park to catch my first sight
Of the Giants displaying this great man
They were playing the Dodgers Friday night -
I found a seat in the center field stand
The Dodgers threw Drysdale at six feet five
And only Willie was up to the job
He parked the first pitch, the crowd came alive,
And Willie trotted  home to greet the mob
It stayed that way all through the first eight
Wille played center field just beyond touch
Two out for the Dodgers,hope getting late
They pinch hit a rookine, prayer but not much
Sharp crack of the bat, high to center field
Willie turned his back to the plate and ran
Clear to the wall at top speed then he wheeled
Put his glove at his belt - he was the Man
