Fountained Poems | Examples

Premium MemberQuiet Night

How well I know this place
with its multicolored, sloping gardens
and glittering, fountained pools
but its beauty is fleeced by repetition

Loneliness tests the resolution of the young
with our howling appetite to experience
and be shaped by exposures.

Like the gleaming barrel of a gun,
the clock points at nothing
and the crimson sunset leads
to another empty, quiet night.

Premium MemberAn Old Oak Tree

She stood beneath an old oak tree,
And peered up to the sky,
And her hand reached up, through the leaves,
As it sang a lullaby,

To the silent ghosts, and to her soul,
To all within its care,
And made everything one, within its reach,
The green, the cool, the air,

And they became a rainbow fountained love,
A fountain of harmonious shade,
Pouring serene from under this tree,
In the tranquil it had made,

She stood beneath an old oak tree,
And as soon as she'd arrived,
It sang the sweetest song to her,
Now her soul has been revived.

Discontent

Do you know sometimes I do not sleep
And neither do I weep
But from an ambiguous place peep
At things we love but cannot keep.
You were my shooting star
On you all my wishes like a fountained dime
Spun, and shun, and shimmered and charred
Away. You treated love like a crime.
Why were you so afraid? You wrung
My innocense like a neck until I screamed
For breath. A star fallen among
The garbage of the city street, beamed
Still through the windows of memory.
Night is a time when cities have no mercy;
Night is the time when I want again
To run with you cursing at the rain.

Hugs of Words With Dinda Minardi

(Michael)
Two sets of eyes that never met.
A hug across lands where words connect.
We whisper and dream in poems so clear.
So far away but can still wipe a tear.
A friendship with no sounds, but a treasure I did found.

(Dinda)
Thousands of landscapes and lining mountains,
Cannot separate our mingled words that fountained
Dear precious, our bond is stronger than before is certain
Wishing spells and crafted words in rainbow tint
We fulfill each other, as dry season completed by season of rain
