Forerunners Poems | Examples

The Ark

Two by two,
They went in,
Male and female alike,
They needed to bond,
Increase in number,
From the least to the greatest,
From the smallest to the largest,
In their kind, specie and class,
Noah’s list included all,
He was given the dimensions,
The ark needed to carry them,
In twos and their types,
Until the windows of heaven were shut,
Until the floods abated,
It was a lavish fountain flow,
Heaven's tears for man's rebellion,
Only Noah’s family found pride in place,
They would begin a new world,
They would be forerunners of a new system,
The deluge inside of me,
A part of me is submerged,
I’m in anticipation of dry grounds,
I’m in earnest of a new world,
Where troubles, chaos and
anarchy sheath their swords,
My heart, my ark,
Not the size of Noah’s,
But could carry as much,
In search of a safe harbour.

Awfully splendorous fallen-leaf paintings on landscapes!
Ultra momentary changing of sky colors and shapes!
Trees, true forerunners, paving paths for the winter princess!
Umbrellas bidding farewell to the summer-rain messes!
Munificently mesmerizing multicolored Morns!
Nebulous fogs knitting knotty nets in nocturnal noons!

Poetic Depression

Does a poet also suffer from depression?
Lives in perplexity, exhaustion!
And groans in the pain of mental death!

To me-
Poetry is a spontaneous life partner,
An indicator of purity, a prophet of insightfulness

To me-
Poetry is the panacea for forgetting sorrow,
The happiness of earthly sympathy

Intuition and wisdom are the forerunners of poetry
In the midst of which self-realization is complete
He is complete in himself.
And that's complete in own-self
Does he ever suffer from depression?

Images of the Past and Present

IMAGES OF THE PAST AND PRESENT

Old men like Phil, Howard, Kenny, Walter, and Gaines are forerunners of the past.
They walk with canes now and are in blazers and slacks.
They still talk game about equity.
They state they will die in their identity.

Gaines is the one I know the best.
He lives via mediums for political success.
Does he achieve as he is?
Gaines is an orphan, a Catholic, a bar attorney in Mississippi.

Older women like Dora, Bobby, and Jenny V. are Honey's strength.
They walk without assistance.
They are not like the men.
Their smiles are sugar pudding and they take on younger women.

These images are real life formed.
They manifested their destiny in socio-political and socio-religious forums.
They come from Baptist, Catholics, and Methodist faiths.
They are heroines and heroes and they have failed.

These are images of the past and present.
Eccentricity is their essence.
Exposed is their depth.
Their identity is within all of that.

'til the Philosophy

For days we mount white stallion,
going westward,
far from the black stone path
The beast pants,
but carry on
with fire in its eyes
New shoots down-trodden in the channel

I taste the straps on forerunners
deep beyond their dermis,
way pass the dark transgression
we obtained,
yet we hold this sin so dear;
a real peril to the end

I felt wind urging hoofs,
and heard the soil of a mother
calling from soles;
support for imperials
Mattocks pulled new soil
to conceal the cries

If philosophy changes,
there’ll be songs I’ll never sing,
but for now I’ll walk streets eastward,
and survey scuffles
while watching my reflections
on dark footprints

In hope the hoofs are hushed
I’ll lay me down
on fertile bed,
whence I will seep along common path
unto all taste buds
The earth will carry me,
as thick as blood

Part One

With gaiety and some pump
Forerunners, trumpeters
And the Gala came to us –

Varied voices, many eyes on faces
Swift to see the lapis lazuli
Nature’s gift to a forest:

(Teachers and teachees,
Authors, farmers and traders,
They came with songs;

Scholars and scholees,
Misters, mistresses and villagers,
They came with songs;

Lecturers and lecturees,
Drummers, dancers and clan-leaders,
They came with songs;

Professors and professees,
Pro-chancellors, chancellors and chair-holders,
They came with songs;

Governors and governees,
Business giants, dwarfs and hawkers,
They also came with songs!)
