When will my judgment come? He asked
of him, who stood, face shadow-masked
in moonlit dark, beside his right.
Don't let it be this mournful night.
Perhaps so, or not; has, or ne'er,
they rasped, exhaling rancid air
so brackish foul to cause a soul
to wish for Golden Oriole.
Who asked, who heard for judgments call
within, without, or none at all?
And yet, the shadow questions so;
and answers as a cawing crow
of dreams for which they dare not ask
the truth, but hide behind a mask;
as he, or they, for we are many.
They lay upon their eyes a penny;
I still have tales to tell, they plea!
They spoke; what is you ask of me?
What's done cannot yet be not so
you held that power long ago
and sold it, for this coin we give.
You think that they can now forgive?
He smells them near, their sulfurous breath;
is this a dream, the truth, a death?
Death is for those who felt some pain;
who smelled the flowers in the rain,
shed a tear at sunset's dying glow;
it is not yours to now foreknow.
They softly say with whispered threat.
It may well come, but not just yet;
there's time for you and I to play,
for you to waste another day.

Easter 2023
Birth, Death, Resurrection, & Today
Written: By Tom Wright

Birth
Because God in his wisdom did foreknow,
That man would never be able.
He sent His son Jesus to dwell on earth,
Being born of the Virgin Mary in a stable.

Death
God then so willed that this same Jesus,
Would give His life’s blood on Calvary’s tree.
Though He knew no sin, he took the sin of man,
And suffered the cross for you and me.

Resurrection
From the Cross, he was carried to a borrowed tomb,
Where He was laid out in grave clothes.
But the tomb’s rolled stone couldn’t hold him,
And three days hence, My Savior Arose!

Today
So today we can hide our colored eggs,
And have Chocolate bunnies without breath.
But remember, it was Jesus’ resurrection,
That gave us hope beyond physical death.

Premium MemberSeize the Day

Don’t look back with regret
The time is gone and
There’s no reason to fret
Don’t look toward tomorrow
It might not ever come
There’s no reason to foreknow
Look to the moment
Live in the present tense
Seize the day – the poignant
And you will forever stay
Filled with delight and insight
The quest for which you pray

Premium MemberA Constanza For Dear Jimmy

A student came from Mexico.
He was a sweet and friendly guy
 just starting out with goals set high.

His spirit seemed to have a glow.
We all could see it in his smile
and how he went the second mile!

In three short months, we saw him grow
from level one to level two
with so much more he meant to do.

Alas! What no one could foreknow:
While he was on his holiday,
An accident took him away.

His sudden death; the utter woe
of all his friends, his family,
and his new bride. A tragedy!

Dear Jimmy, we all miss you so,
but you were one who loved the Lord,
and now you’ve gone to your reward.

A student came from Mexico.
His spirit seemed to have a glow.
In three short months we saw him grow.
Alas! What no one could foreknow:
His sudden death, ; the utter woe!
Dear Jimmy, we all miss you so.

Premium MemberDancing Leaves

Golden leaves are dancing in the street,

happily, for autumn skies don't show

that soon, by evening glow, shall be first snow,

yet they shall meet decease with glee replete!

Merrily they frolic to-and-fro.

How do leaves dance so without two feet?

Oh, if like the leaves we each could greet

our days with zest, death never to foreknow.
