Soldier

It hurts so deep,
And you make me cry,
That maybe back at the station,
That, that was our last goodbye.

We both know that you're strong,
But we both know the chances,
That things go wrong.

I wait for you,
Wait for your call,
And never get a notice,
That battle,
Was your downfall.

Come back safely,
My Soldier Love,
My Captain,
Come home to safety.

March on home my Captain,
March on my solider love,
Keep you head up high,
And look to him above.

War Bride

She waits for him with baited breath.
May a messenger not bring any news.
She hopes for the best, can’t wait to see.
He’s her life, she has everything to lose.

May a messenger not bring any news
from the front lines, telling of his demise.
She knows in her heart, he shall return.
A telegram would surely tell lies.

She hopes for the best, can’t wait to see
her gentleman walk through her door.
Now, she waits for him to return one day,
the soldier, the man she adores

He’s her life, she has everything to lose.
She’d be done, if he was not to return.
But, down deep inside, she knows he’s alive
For his presence, she’ll wait, and yet yearn.

Only Soldier

Why am I the only soldier fighting in this war?
Can anybody tell me what I have been fighting for?
I have decided I need a break to do some self reflection.
All I have ever wanted is love, loyalty, and a little affection.
He acts like I am not even worth arguing for,
So why am I the only soldier in this war?
I am a P.O.W and nobody seems to care.
Don't they understand this pain is becoming to hard to bare?
I am starting to feel like I am the lone ranger,
I swear the man I fell in love with has become nothing but a stranger.
I don't want to be the one to walk away.
If he would just give me a sign that he wants me to stay.
I can't keep being the only soldier in this war.
My wounds are so deep and I can't take the pain anymore.

The Flood

My cup overflows.
Water runs from the glass to the rim,
churning forth,
flooding everything that lies in it's path.
What is this?

It seeps
into all the cracks and crevices,
all the dry land.
It fills the earth.
What is this?

It doesn't flow steady.
It increases exponentially,
growing like a tidal wave
until everything is consumed.
What is this?

It is a soldier
willing to die for a fellow comrade,
a best friend
willing to give all they own,
a brother
laying down his life for his kin.

When I die
I want people to understand what this is.
I want it to be so emblazoned on my soul
that people will have no doubt.

The words will tumble
from my lips
until the sky and the Earth
cease to be.
Time itself may stop
but my words
will echo through eternity
because life is too short not to say it.

Life is far too short not to say it.

When I Seen Blood

When I Seen Blood
Kiara Lebel

Bro
I yelled, BRO
Hold on we’re almost there

Breathe slow
Relax your eyes
Stay still

Pain

Don’t speak
Look into my eyes
I’m not leaving, they’re almost here

Strength

Grasp my hands
Stay close to my heart
I see the glistening in your eyes, don’t cry

Confusion

Lie back
Keep still
God won’t take you

Hesitation

And I remember you whisper “Bro I wouldn’t wanna do nothin like this with nobody else”
I seen a tear shed from you, and that’s when my chest tightened
Don’t say goodbyes, you’re gonna be okay

Lost

You’re breathing slower
You’re eyes are closing
And you’re not moving at all now

Horror

My heart is pounding, you taught me so much
Please don’t go
And the last thing you whispered was “You my lil bro, get out this life cause it ain’t for all of us.”

Dead.

Now you’re gone
I’m here with our memories, memories that are forever
When I seen blood, is when I became a soldier

Rest In Paradise, bro

Poppabear

This poem is written for a mate’s dad
The family left feeling awfully sad
For their Poppabear passed this week
A better life he tries to seek

A Son, A Brother, A Father too
Your babybears were very proud of you
Yes you had your demons with fags and the booze
Alas your taking your final cruise

You gave your children a better life than you had
That’s why they are proud to call you dad
Your early days with your brother were difficult and hard
No contact from parents not even a card

But you stayed true to your word
Gave your children love that’s not absurd
Even though you struggled with your health
Your love to the kids was better than wealth

As a former soldier and a guardsman too
I’m sure your send-off won’t be all blue
As a Guardsman you will stand tall
Erect to the front you will not fall

A handsome and witty chap you were
Direct to the point that was for sure
As a man who didn’t mince his words
Assertive and polite but did not curse ?

So Poppa Bear you will be missed
Now your babybears are getting Pxxxed
RIP DAD we loved you so much
A single white feather is all now we can clutch

The Soldier We All Need

There is a difference between what is wrong and what is right.
World War Two was fought by men and women who were prepared
to die for our way of life.

These people lived in a world that we at best can try to understand.
They stared into the eyes of death and died fighting evil to defend
the hopes, beliefs and the children of this land.

I see a man who lived in a world I did not know. Though relatives of
mine were there with him defending all we know. Their stories always
recalled with a solemn painful sorrow. Not a hint of hatred or racism,
just not prepared to let evil overthrow.

The life this man has seen. Stood up to fight one of histories most
evil regimes. The people he will have seen and known, some of those
smiles never came back home. Now he walks for charity. Raises millions
for the health service of this country. I can not find the words to state
my pride for his selfless dignity.

This man is everything right about this country. Though some would
use the spirit of his memory to forward their own philosophy. Can you see
the wrong and right without staring too intently? The real hero who fought
for our country being a soldier for the health service we all need.

Or is it just me?

My Promise To My Soldier

promise to be there for you always?
Whenever you need a helping hand
?I promise to think about you daily
?Wherever you are in the world
?I promise to never let you down
?No matter what we go through
?I promise to keep you in my prayers
?So that God may keep you safe
?I promise to be here when you return
?I will be there waiting
?I promise to be your support
?When you need it most
?I promise to help you through the tough times
?Even though it will hurt me
?I promise to be here for you when you are in pain
?Even though it will pain me too
?I promise to support you in any decisions you may make?
No matter what they are
?I promise to be there for you when decisions need to be made
?Even though it will kill me to watch you leave
?I promise I will be there to say goodbye?
When you leave on your excursions
?I promise to be there to say hello again
?When you return to me
?I promise to love you forever and eternally
?No matter what happens or where life takes us
?I promise to be loyal to you while you are not with me?Because I know that you will be loyal to me
?I promise that no matter where life takes me
?It will never take me away from you?
I promise to be here forever and always?
Trustworthy and in love?
Forever and always
?I promise.

Like a Hired Soldier

who can tell a person is wrong or right?

day-to-day each one is a hired soldier..
fighting in their own battlefield..
not to kill a criminal or a terrorist..
rather a person striving for better life..

who can definitely say one's reason for living?

allow me to say that each one is struggling so..
one reason maybe is to earn a living..
one reason maybe is to gain power..
or this maybe one reason to share God's love...

who can tell hundred percent that such person can do harm?

isn't it, only by giving into chances that you can know one person..?
isn't it, through God's eyes we are all equal despite who we are here on earth..?
isn't it , through genuine acceptance that divisions and differences are broken?
isn't it reaching out is fine but alright?

sad to say that persons judge without knowing..
sad to say persons can conclude without even investigating..
sad to say, persons who are educated will look at others just by their race..
sad to say, persons outcast and demeans another person because of looks..

hired soldiers we maybe everyday..
true to say, we must on guard to others..
we must be vigilant to stay protected..
we must use all resources in us to keep living..

however, must we be hired soldiers to condemn and persecute innocence?

Endurance, Will Power, Strength

The rain is falling hard outside
The wind is picking up
It's miles until we reach the next point
But we can't even think of giving up

This shelter is so rudimentary
It's only half killing the cold
The moon light above is shining brightly
I think it's time we took a hold

A body count sees that we are missing one
We go and look out at the fields
The fields look like black, uneven tracks
But our comrade may well be out there on his knees

Let's retrace our steps back to the previous point
Let's pretend the sun is out
Let's pretend we're off for a country walk
Let's do it now, right now!

We have to stick to watching backs and following the line
Until we find him we will walk no matter what the tide!
We won't be able to hear ourselves the wind is so strong now
The horizontal rain will hit our faces hard, we must protect our eyes!

100 metres and we do a check, to make sure we're all here
When we find our comrade we may well have to carry him back here

No rest now boys, no food, no drink, try to remember how strong willed you are
The wet cold fields and cruel weather vast will try to bring us to our knees
But this fight against the elements will be true and hard but we will win, we will win.

An injured, lost, soldier is out there now, and we will do this for him.

What Love Did To Me

Before you start a war
You better know what you're fighting for
We found love right where we are
Laying under the stars
You’re the one I adore

I’ll throw away my faith just to keep you safe
You’re my saving grace
Someone like you cannot be replaced
In my heart is your place
My heart is what you chase
Kiss me with a straight face
If I fall you catch me just in case
Now I feel like I have you misplaced

If love is what you need a soldier I will be
I’d surely hope you agree
We have our names carved in the old tree
Our love was like one two and three
I thought you would come with me
You show me no love I see
You said you wanted to be free
Your head filled with greed
I begged and plead
My love continues to bleed
You're not the soldier I need
Messing with me is what you lead
You have succeed

If you didn’t fight for what you want
Then don’t cry for what you’ve lost
I knew being with you had a cost
My loved is what you have tossed
I thought we would last
I want to go back to the past
My heart is like glass
You broke it with alot of mass
I thought you had more class

You’re name is all I could cry for
Still remember the coat you wore
That made my heart feels lower than the ground floor
I didn't know what you had in store
Never leave me is what you swore
I guess i wasn't’ the girl you were looking for

You did it again once more
Was loving me like a chore?
Hurting me is all you adore
Lying to me under the stars
We never found love where we are
Breaking me is what you’re fighting for
I do not know the score
But the battle has ended, but you have won the war

Mrs Maya

Under the towering bridge, beside the tulip garden, next to the curvy ridge, sat a soldier awaiting no one.

Merged with a melody of notes, when the rappling river hummed it's tune, this man felt remorese to which one could never be immune.

The silent breeze calmed the dimming sky, the weather turned plesently chilly and steadily peace seemed to multiply

With a lit cigar between his fingers and his head admits conflict, sat this man in his room, clouded by the early morning's mist.

Birds chirped near by, the river hummed along, the occasional ticking of the clock, was the only other sound.

“Dear maya”, he wrote, as he returned to his bunker somewhere remote

His mind wandered to her joyous smile, seperated as they were, by many a mile,

He penned what came to him instinctively, in a scrawly handwriting,”I miss you lovely”

He wrote about everything but not for long,he wanted to tell her he missed her singing their song.

He wrote about how his home did he miss, his bike, his school and his mother’s kiss

His brother’s dare, his sister’s care,

his eyes glittered as he put it all down, his dimpled cheeks twisted into a deep sad frown,

He wrote about how, of her everything reminded him, his eyes hesitantly filled to the brim,

The distance for a while did his heart tear, oh what he’d give up to, at her stare,

To his mind then came this tiny little creature, to the soldier his pup was the greatest gift of nature

Back home With his face looping, and on his feet four, stood this amazing someone, barking in wait at the door,

The empty wardrobe in the house, meant nothing to Tim, the man's shoes were what he held onto because they still smelt like him.

The pup seemed to look at the door, everytime it seemed to creek, waiting for the man whom he loved, to whom his eyes did speak.

When the fresh breeze blowing off the river, touched this man's frawning face, he realised there were tears coming off his eyes, thinking of the tiny heart who ran to him in chase.

Growing up with a companion, and then being torn apart, this story didn't seem fair, nothing of literature or art.

Will this tale of separation ever come to an end? Asked the man's gloomy heart, that longed for his best friend.

But close by there was a deafening sound,he knew had to leave, he was duty bound,

He ended his letter; promised to see them soon, in this world of internet, to him letters were still the only boon.

And after that boom that day, the phone at home almost never rang, Maya's melody was lost, she never again sang.

Even after years, she couldnt talk of her soldier without a deep sad frown,

In her nightmare she lost him; she woke up and he was still gone
