God Walks Warmly Alongside Death Dedicated
Between the silence of a sterile room and a child of grace
the sure footed arrival of a God without a face
The hourglass of time stills the stage with un-remission
as she waits by Snow Don Hills without contrition
A floodlight of compassion eases in she's not in pain
her soul is a lit lantern that's never smelt the rain
Wearing a tallit with knotted fringes on each corner
He's opens every angle like an Angel without borders
Dressed in a dignity gown and propped against a pillow
she dances with the bunnies beneath a weeping willow
God takes her little hand in His, its simple so precise
just like sunrise in the morning, straight from paradise.

Running Out of Runway
The vulgar obtain
degrees in sophistication,
the sophisticated study vulgarity.
Mice dress like men,
and rats lead the wolves.
No one is happy with their lot,
that allotment given, or taken away,
that political lottery that none win.
Can we shed our skins, like serpents
shuck this old-time corrupted living,
rinse away the sludge of
an untold history?
The bells no longer ring
in small town churches,
where the average
meet
to understand our
showboating American God.
Razzamatazz glitters on,
illuminating the homeless
as they shop for gold teeth,
for it is good to smile and shine,
when left behind,
under the cold,
cold, floodlight of fame and infamy.

A Soul Is Divine
The Divine Soul
possesses three gifts of light.
The first ripples outward,
touching the lives of others.
The second radiates upward,
connecting to Source.
The third is a beacon,
drawing in energy from the Universe.
The Soul both gives and receives -
illuminated and illuminating.
Like a shining water lily
glistening on a pond,
it's imperceptible breath
blows rings across the surface.
This is the Soul interacting with others,
leaving impressions,
making memories,
whispering it's truth.
A floodlight in the flower's center
reaches through darkness,
tethered to Spirit
who protects it from above.
Butterflies are drawn
to the glowing petals -
messages from Angels,
signs from beyond.
When we see
the brilliant trinity of all we inhale
and all we expel,
we become one with the Soul of our creation.

Inversion
Water flew,
it was above my head
waving or flapping
or did it row?
The boat
was a situation
adrift inside a cockleshell.
I recall the moon vividly
for it was not there.
Dreams fold inwards,
invert and leach
behind shuttered lids.
Searchlight-sight turns to floodlight,
the peripheral is everywhere.
Awareness rises to the top
rocking back and forth
heart-waves - tolling
like a sea tossed buoy,
Sometimes, mid-deep in flight
you find a paddle,
sometimes you don't.

Beings of Light
In the City of Galactic Beings of light, there is no disease no feast or famine
floodlight beings from another dimension take our best interest at heart
They own Divine connection to each and every one of us
as they pour out light, truth and inspiration they help us to
stay connected to each other...
They lead us to inspired thought and action, 22 intergalactic races
living in communion as one under one big beautiful, pulsing sun
The battle has been won already, we just need to open our eyes and see
that the destruction of humanity is on a set course for a re-awakening
we will all soon move like luminous vapors into the nimbus light of God
some of us limping, some of us whole, some of us sectioned off
but we will All be loved under the big red umbrella of UNCONDITONAL LOVE
The Poem Is Dedicated To My Friend Dianne
Without Her Love And Understanding, I would not have understood
the grandeur side of this wonderful act of selfless love...

Crucible
A flood light from the ground up
means a stud might turn his sound up,
put his gloves on for the pound-up, and
you’re too old and fat to low crawl, so why the hell did you make that phone call?
Who knows? Maybe if placed on death-ground, you’ll fight valiantly. Maybe it’s worth simply dying if you can’t.
Any damned thing’s better than what you’re doing right now.
Confused whores on your flat bed, your best friend is a crack head, and shattering the darkness is a floodlight, from the ground up. Just follow the thing, and see where it leads—old man.

When You Smile Like That
When you smile you glow hard
Like a floodlight, the brightness of which could drown out the misery in even a dark soul and uplift it on rising currents of hope. If I had to use words to describe it I would say it was captivating, mystifying, even magnetic. The kind where people can't help but steal a glance, and maybe even take a chance. No this poem isnt about romance (maybe I'm lying) but I love smiles like that. They're like defibrillators to the chest, but you never hear "Clear" and you just get a pleasant shock is all, from being touched by blissful energy that has the beauty of poetry, inspiring hearts have a change in rhythm and scribble odes to it across EKGs, with no ink just their own electricity. Thats what a smile like that does.

The Healer
The healer
Do you remember the night when?
The floodlight came on as we sat by the riverside?
You said you loved me and I quickly said ditto,
A joke you didn’t appreciate.
Mosquitoes flew like silent angles through air
In the mimosa night and the home, the team lost
Three to one.
The dance music on the radio got a silent tone
While the trout waked in the knowledge I had
Not brought fishing tackle. And trees fell to the ground
The castors were hard at work.
Never mind, it was long ago the fish and you have gone
And the river is polluted.
But it will be better since the saga queen Greta came
And healed the world.

Into the Woods To Save Another
I ceased to be me when I heard the young one’s screams.
They were coming from the woods, between my two streams.
Her shrieking was terrifyingly real, not like on fantasy TV.
It felt like a young woman was being murdered
which was good enough for me.
I ran for our big floodlight, without thinking about myself at all.
Into the woods we ran, my three dogs, me and my bravest cousin, Paul.
Her shrieks sounded closer now. They were the loudest to our right.
Suddenly something grabbed me by my arm. It was the biggest fright!
A voice whispered close to my ear, “Shh!” as a man held me into place.
Greatly relieved to hear Paul, as I could not in the dark see his face.
“Don’t you know what that is?” he whispered. “What?” I barely whispered back.
“That’s a bobcat’s cry,” he told me. “If it is threatened, it might attack.”
We immediately headed back to the house. The dogs followed
a few hours later.
The last time I was this scared, we were in Florida,
where I had seen a wild, loose alligator.

The Night the Music Died - Emotive Write
Ariana Grande’s in Manchester, she performs upon the stage
Her music and singing appeals to fans of such a tender age
Young fans sing along to the songs that they all know
And when the concert’s finally over it's time for them to go
But as they file out of the venue a terrorist’s bomb explodes
It’s chaotic, there’s hysteria as their world suddenly implodes
Medic’s rush to help the dying; and the injured they console
The scene is an apocalypse, which has spiraled out of control
A perpetual cacophony of sounds with people screaming and crying
You don’t expect to attend a concert and end up with people dying
There’s a kaleidoscope of colour from the emergency floodlight
A hollow victory for terrorism on this unforgettable May night
8 word challenge 4 Contest
Sponsored by John Hamilton
09-21-17
On May 22nd, 22 people lost their lives and 116 people were injured when a suicide bomb exploded as people left the Ariane Grande concert … the youngest victim was just 8 years old

Storms
The bitter biting wind howls around my face
I’m out on the moors: such a desolate place
Dark clouds are gathering straight ahead
Wish I was at home safe in my bed
Streaks of golden lightning fill up the sky
Vivid flashes of white flash in my eye
Thunder claps deafen me, I cover my ears
Not been in a storm like this for many many years
Lightning forks fill me with fascination
I wait for the next one with great anticipation
Lighting up the sky like a massive floodlight
Thunder and lightning such a pure delight
I shelter safely by the gnarled oak tree
Its wizened old branches shielding me
Rain teems down but I am safe and dry
I shelter safely until the storm passes by

Window of My Soul
A floodlight burns from deep within
where shadows dirst not go
And it's been there since the day He
knocked
upon the window of my soul
I've come to change your life my son
is what He softly said
As I peered out and saw His Light
and my sins 'neath crimson red
I'll warm your heart, remove the dark
and fill you with my light
If you'll but open up the door
the one there to your right
So I unlocked and learned to walk
and arose there from below
All because my Savior knocked
upon the window of my soul
