Summertime - Haikai - Haiku

dawn a flash of light
summer sun escaped the clouds
a blink in time

sparrows twittering
fledgelings begging to be fed
a watchful cat

warm westerly breeze
consolation for no sun
the warmth factor

summertime blinked
one-day last year a Monday
July the tenth

suntanned my body
fake news in a bottle
binned sunglasses

its summer time
no nature is lying
hush pretty baby

my apple tree
has yet to bloom and produce
summertime blues

I Will Forget

I Will Forget

You left me like a tear drop that never returns.
Like when bird fledgelings leave their nests.
You left when I thought you were mine.
You left me like a snowflake melting

on the sidewalk

I gave you my heart for safe keeping.
All you did was to shatter it like glass
Than you gave it back to me bleeding

my love away

Perhaps I broke some kind of law by
loving you. I am strong and will forget

Yet, why do I keep hearing your words

of love?

I never expected you to hurt me this way.
You left me but you’ll see, I will forget you.

I close my eyes and still see you.

Damn you!

Yet, my bleeding heart

still yearns and waits for you.

Bird of Courage

In my garden, many trees were planted to grow
In the middle, one stood tall and beautiful
Its green leaves and size gave me pride
For with courage I sweated to feed it

Into it, from all corners flew and sat
Many more weaved for their eggs to lay
A shelter for the eggs to lay and hatch fledgelings
With courage, day and night the birds toiled

No birds’ nests the tree hated
In the branches, many were dangling
Majority fell off under a strong wind
The coward birds abandoned the tree

Unscathed was one nest inside the branches
To the father weaver, it gave hope
To allow it to survive, the wind will stop
And no more birds will venture in this shrub

Mother and father birds will join to celebrate
Their wings, they will flap; they will hum
For their nest endured the fate
The winds are over to live another time

Repelling nest will live an amazing moment
For through hurdles some perished
As their hope vanquished in the universe
To rejoice the weavers, fledgelings will mature
Birds of courage will never abandon such a fight

For the Birds-Contest

A Home Within A Home

We, the birds, and our friends, the bees,
Fly only where there is abundance,
To get our mouthfuls,
And lips smacking with honey.

Wherever we see flora
Our fauna will be there,
Where we find richness of beauty
We will be feasting our ever hungry eyes.

A home full of love
Will have room to keep us warm,
Where there is warmth
There is bound to be protection.

We birds, and the bees,
With our God-gifted vibes,
Fly on to the wings of the wind
To dear welcoming homes.

We know, that nooks and corners
Of airy-warm homes,
Have room for us to string strong new nestling,
Soon to echo with our chirpy fledgelings.
