The firebugs are mesmerized
as the City of Angels burns,
but like the Phoenix rose in flight,
Los Angeles soon will arise
and lift us high again.

The Crimson Sunset Arising Over The Wind-Swept Moor

No harmful or irksome thoughts
stir this mind to absolute madness,
and away from annoying, frequent sounds:
only peacefulness soothes irritated senses;
I may fall asleep and dream
in a state of false reality,
letting the fanciest fantasy
enter the bloodstream!

The crimson sunset arising over the wind-swept moor
alleviates the mood of daily woes such as this murmur;
the torrid day, unlikely a dry desert, gives into a cool breeze:
nothing is heard above and under but the shrilling of a geese!

All the joyous smiles flashed by others were missed by me,
and the craving was stuck into my throat unable to spit it out
and feel the relief I needed to carry me through a painless night;
firebugs aren't pretty butterflies, they glow and suddenly flee!

Premium MemberMet Your Match

How can an arsonist get pleasure
From starting a fire
Is it a compulsion or is it a desire
to see what damage can be done
With just one match

Is it a game for notoriety or fame
Without a thought of anguish brought to others
With just one match

It's hard to believe or even conceive
That there are many out there
That gets very excited when they have ignited
A fire
With just one match

Would these firebugs understand other thugs
Who decided to light a fire in the night
At the arsonist's patch
With just one match

Premium MemberI Dream of Being Wrong

I Dream of Being Wrong!

It's so frustrating, God but it seems that it's true
What I see in my heart it's Your pleasure to do!
Still, I wish Lord some dreams might get lost in Your will,
Though our lessons suggest, You feel love for us still.

"I AM" right! With no thinking? Do some share your dreams?
When I see evil coming, hate rise to extremes,
Should I climb in my ark Lord or trust rainbow's pledge
(As Trump's minions with arsenals dance on life's edge.)

When our timetables differ Lord, sometimes I fear
That my prayers (am I selfish?) did not find Your ear,
Must men soil the whole planet till climate suspends
Any hope of survival? Flea's fleas have no friends!

With the heat slowly rising, firebugs in a sweat
An iceberg in hell dies of sunstroke and yet,
All the science deniers toast first! What a joke!
They did exit with flair! "Oh my God! 'Rapture' Smoke!"

In the Midst of Shipwrecks

Fading beacons, lights along the further distant shores
As the firebugs within nights, a burning nevermore
Left unpleasured in their yearning, Seamen laden take the test of storms

As the lunar lighthouse crossing clouds, swallowing up to blacken bay
And mariners are dreaming of hearth and home beneath Trident's splashing grayer haze
But, more of regret that they're met by wave after crashing wave

And the lightning unrelenting, lighting up hollow safeties
As sirens do, louder than the roars that nature orchestrates
Where silence booms just below, the ocean offers up her truce of deadly ways

A chance for eternal rest in seabeds of reef and precious sunken treasures
Thus, once again joining their fallen, fellow shipmate anchors
In the mist of a shipwrecks, beguiled into ancient slumber
Waiting in unmarked graves to one day be discovered
