Time dried, these shrunken widths of planks have gapped apart.
Its hinges must have closed some dismal weather out.
Today it opens on a canopy of trees.
This view is verdant green without a focal point.
A critic might have said, “What is this painting of?
Your composition needs a subject to present.”
But paintings like some windows just bring in light and air.

Voller Spannung zum Sprung bereit
Verfolgt sie den Vogel

She pursues the bird
In front of the closed window
The world is yet in order
