Pointing fingers, wagging tongues,
the "blame game" never gets things done..
Steamy anger and it's spillage never
heals the hurting village..
Don't just stew and act fettered, work
to make things a bit better..

I'd had enough,
Of pain and scenes.
I planned an escape
Unheard, unseen.
I wished to flee,
So I flapped my wings
But in place, there were
Hard and strong strings.
A call I heard,
Which warmed my heart
Unbidden it came
On my fledglings' part.
Were I to fly?
What then of them?
Young and innocent
Invaluable gems.
So I settled
For a life in shackles.
I'd face all,
For their endless cackles.

Forlorn
hands full of dust,
lightly held..
an open yawning
space..out
toward the horizon...
seemingly destitute
frail..
what fate awaited,
what precise sheer
unseen...
to descend..or no?
still shaken,
as a shadow at rest..
..he fell..
into the arms of sleep

A fettered loved I do not seek
Emotions, ruthless, let them speak
Of endless love and wisdom sound
If love is lost, let it be found.

oh fettered women,
do you walk symmetrically?
lining up your steps with calculation/closer to death, end of the day
oh faceless noons,
do you tread me and my flawed desires?
bringing your midnight reflections, washing over me like troubled water
oh fettered women,
do you believe in shamans, blindness, or love?
are we all broken yet?
