My Dream Date Over A Moonflower

She be a Toyota amongst Ferraris

Nondescript, simple, garden variety

A book with a plain cover

Yet with pages that intrigue

Pages that enlighten

And raises my eyebrows

And especially

A book that I can't put down

And want to read over and over

Unlike others

She'd take life slow

Definitely in moderation

Definitely with an eye on spiritual riches

Instead of materialistic gains

I see her heart skipping with joy

On slow walks around the park

Or taking a swim in the ocean

With both our eyes and hearts in harmony

And filled with laughter and warmth

Her eyes would say

"Let's Go Places"

... Some others would want a fairytale

Rome, Paris, London

Perhaps a candle light dinner under the moon

With romantic music in the background

But I would be happy finding that special one

That's swells with taking in a Chinese restaurant

In the slowest part of town

... sharing a moon flower soup

Premium MemberClouds Laughed

More of this, more of that
    Fifty dogs, a hundred cats
  Never satisfied, never enough
A card sharp, called million-dollar bluffs

  Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis galore
    Never enough, needed far more
Penthouse in Manhattan, two in L.A.
Resorts in Palm Springs and Montego Bay

  Trumped the tallest towers
Built a castle reached the sky
Clouds laughed, then raced to form
    a simple question ~ W H Y?

Premium MemberCraving Ever More Gold - Contest

Rapacious greed
  avarice's creed
voracious appetite
  devours every bite

Never enough silver
  craves ever more gold
his insatiable lust
  never grows old

Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini
  Porsche, five Ferraris
Cadillacs and BMW's
  beneath him ~ sorry

Charges usurious rent
  hoards every last cent
on his family tree
  a branch diseased and bent

Premium MemberTalked Into Watching Drag Races

Drag racing is fun my pushy neighbor said, pleading.
I did not dare go, myself always caught speeding.
I could picture myself in one of those bashed up cars.
Smashed up and injured, later maybe behind jail bars.

She coaxed and persuaded, and took me any way.
Watching three red Ferraris wreck kind of made my day.
I have no idea why, but this wild drag racing madness is fun.
Please tell me why you think this is if you ever go to one.

Premium MemberA Car For Every Perusasion

There's certainly a wide-ranging variety of different cars
From the Model T to the Tesla -- no longer wildly popular

People want choices to match their lifestyles and moods
Manufacturers want trustworthy cars that can 'deliver the goods'
Reliable rides -- solid, unspectacular engines under their hoods

Rich sports stars tend to go for muscle cars and speed
Jaguars, Porsches, Ferraris; Dodges, Pontiacs, and AMCs

Famous celebrities, of course, crave the ultimate in luxury
Rolls Royces, Mercedes, Lincoln Town Cars, and Bentleys

Nerds and computer geeks worship the ways of the Japanese
They drool over Hondas, Toyotas, Mazdas, even Mitsubishis

Which brings us to the environmentalists, willing to pay a bit more
For hybrids, electric cars, even ones that run on cooking oil and Indian lore

But I've saved the final two lines for a new car so incredibly smart
That without any driver, it appeals to cutting-edge intellectuals
                     ~ and fearless hearts

Mad At Them

I need to ride
In those Ferraris
(Like they do)
And feel proud
Of my efforts
(Yeah, to...)
But I see
The possibility
Is getting slimmer by the day

Politics is aLl thAt dooms my future
They are fighting as to determine who rules
But I see they all have nothing
That is in their heads
Say, they are fools

They say they do big deals
They call themselves big bosses But they are big losses
Because they bar our ways to success!
(Mad at them)

Deo Volente

God's willing we shall strive
May we never lose our drive
You cry, I cry, we all cry
But then again sometimes we smile

God's willing very soon it shall rain
Torrents of blessings, oh! We're tired of just dews
We shall occupy flamboyant terrains
Brace yourself, I see us standing on higher plateaux

God's willing all your seeds shall grow
Though u shall only reap what you sow
Some call it a bluff; it's a truth we all know
You only escape if next winter produces pink snow

God's willing we shall marry before our thirties
At forty, rich enough to buy Bentleys and Ferraris
Haha, hey you! I clearly caught you smiling
Make sure u also go out and do some planting

You just put in some work, trust God and avoid envy
The future is bright I need not go philosophical like Ghandi
Our tomorrow shall definitely taste like juice and brandy
Gods willing... Oh! Deo Volente!

Empire of Blood

I have sacrificed thousands of lives,
to allow a new constitution in the country.
Many people hate me,
calling me old, slow and foolish. So surprised
I am that the fool I am, have a following
of doctors, engineers and architects.
I have managed to make a fool out of the government,
to allow me to build my own palace,
and buy a dozen Ferraris,
with the help of public kitty.
I grew up knowing money as a god
who received sacrifice in form of family, trust,
love and happiness.
It's a matter of time before blood flows from the rivers
of our ancestors, to the gate of my palace.
My friends and enemies will call me "President!"

My Economic Woes Doze .

The Soup kitchen's queue are in line .
The economy , banjaxed and dyin' .
When Lehmans went bust
The bankers just cussed
So now , " Buddy who can spare a dime " ?.

I called up my banker , by chance .
With an invite to the " Poor Peoples " dance .
He came dressed in rags
With two plastic bags
And the ass missing , from his old pants .

No Ferraris or Mercs to be seen .
For between us , we hadn't a bean .
The soup it was cold
And the bread , it had mould
And Seamus the Chef , was a " Queen " .

The dessert trolly started to shake .
Baked Alaskas were fried like a steak .
Amid all the wailin'
In strolled Sarah Palin
" Vote me in and I'll give you a break " .

I awoke in a lather of sweat
At the characters I had just met .
With a sad sorry weep
I went straight to sleep.
"Snore it off , Seán , that's as good as 'twill get .
