Each day seems to be an endless delight.
Rainbows of optimism enchant my sight.
Like monsoon drizzles, fullness flows and floods.
Worlds of hope are seen in the blooms and buds.
There's an unknown stir in my inmost soul.
A weird whirl curls and furls my hidden goal.
A sunbeam silently enters my shrine.
Like gold in the sun, my heart and mind shine.
New blood of change flows through new flesh and veins.
The environs are in mirth, freed of pains.
As the grace of the divine fills the earth
Physique and psyche seem to gain new birth.

They told us our skin meant exile
That our joy would be put on trial
Because it brings rain
But how can they hate the rain when it nourishes the ground we walk on
The same ground that grows the food we need to survive
They want us to cower in the face of their Whiteness
To bow down to their egos and stroke it
For us to call them superior
And reprimand our own blackness
And repent with silence
But we were born strong
Strength flowed through our bloodlines
Coursing through generations
Our ancestors created a legacy of pride
That we their children will not allow to be broken
We have endured the stings of their whips
We have lived through the shackles of slavery
We have taken abuse from the system
Yet still remained outspoken
Refusing to be the beat up victim
And faced the inhumane conditions of incarceration
We were made to withstand any storm
To hold our own
Whilst being pushed around
To trust in the power of ourselves
To embrace the harsh realities of life
To continue to love
And balance the rain with our sun
To smile and not giving them the satisfaction
Of their racism
And to not be bullied by their discrimination

Know yourself
If not
People gonna
Write your story
Forgetting your history
But just for their glory.
They make you feel
Like you're nothing
Just to make you lazy
Feeling above you
Then act crazy
Making you the villain
Just put you on surveillance.
Steadily watching
Your moves and motives
So they can put you
On slow motion
Causing confusion
Leaving you in commotion
So you leave in stagnation without no destination.

TELL ME WHY NOT YOU
It has always been you
Looking into your eyes
I wonder what good I did in my past life
Tell me why not you
You embody perfection in your imperfection
I see
Nature must have had a hand in our connection
Tell me why not you
I feel a surge of happiness
Me with you is a powerful force
Standing against the extremities of the world
You question “why me”
With a smile that lights my face
Staring into the eyes that drowns me in love
I ask, why not you?
Baby, there is your answer.

Here with a smile as sad thoughts bleach,
I count my days in surge of pain;
Joy takes a while to seep and reach,
As pain sculpts clay now and again.
My quest for peace starts with void deep,
I hear a voice that calls to me;
Brief shaft of ease in dance of sleep,
Stream pique of poise that craft can be.
There is a way within that shows,
A touch unseen like in a dream;
A mellow play of words that flow,
A gap between where stillness streams.
A hidden fire burns warm and bright,
Deep soul marks heart with body-mind;
Spirit now sires a lovely light,
Glimpses now start to help me find.
Faith channels hope in glimpse that calls,
Love abides here in deep desire;
Joy sculpts and scopes as echoes fall,
Goodwill seeds clear true burning pyre.

The word
has inalienable
right of manifestation...
But it's up to us to embody it
with sound and the voice !

Word in brief trace
Clutter more space,
Act hurls clear fact
Confronts sure tact.
Here as words curl
In sanguine swirl,
Now feel brisk rhymes
Of fragrant chimes.
Incline deep heart
As soul prompts art,
Let poise cast act
To dress calm pact.
Peace feels easy
If you but see,
Depend on truth
For timeless proof.

Embody this
Flesh and blood soul
A sacred bliss
Embody that
Dance of dream whole
A certain set
Embody then
From pole to pole
A feeling grand
Embody now
Heart within goal
A why and how
Embody poise
Grand lavish hold
A surge of voice

Villanelle: No lives are theirs those who embody rule of law
No lives are theirs those who embody rule of law
Inhabit the corridors of authority
Must of needs lay lives down their peoples to succour
Makes no difference whether tyrant emperor
Or those who sneak in barely in democracy
No lives are theirs those who embody rule of law
Falter even once nay their lives forfeit before
This the rule must be for those in authority
Must of needs lay lives down their peoples to succour
The judge who takes sides for the favours of a whore
The prince consort who soils queen’s bed with germs mighty
No lives are theirs those who embody rule of law
President who risks State secrets with paramour
Minister who fills own pockets with rigged treaty
Must of needs lay lives down their peoples to succour
Qian holds Heaven where must reside nothing impure
Lest the downpour soak toiling souls’ immunity
No lives are theirs those who embody rule of law
Must of needs lay lives down their peoples to succour

After the tempest comes
ripping away all you thought
you held in your soul
tight, unshakeable, unbreakable
You become the tempest. For when
“You embody the golden breeze”
The forest quivers, and mountains crumble in your wake.
