The question remains
Entangled, refrained
Of earth and sky
Resting on the edge
Of due or die
And then I see you
Sitting so quaint
A peaceful mention
A wandering eye
Twining each branch
Climbing high
To catch your every promise
Your words so eloquently and refined
Oh this wind struck passion
Blowing free upon the morning light
If but to find a chance
I dream a dream
Of you by my side

I recall the rural life of the butterfly
Extravagantly —that proud floating mass of wings.
Her wings flutter from sea to coast so eloquently,
Yet silent with the muteness of frightened breeze.
They are banners with buntings of newness — striped,
Spotted, arched, dotted.
Her flamboyant life history, reading it backwards,
Is an exhibition of time and cosseted patience....
The winged one, aged and tried, schleps to the stirs of a narcoleptic pupa,
Hanging on the banisters of a dear larva who's egged on to
Run the full circle and announce the mating time and a most
Fragile conception.

One glorious, sun-drenched, thirsty December day,
I sat, numbed with the agedness of a visitor, and
Fumed eloquently with joy for the benefit of the
Seine – the ointment of Paris.
Somewhere along the gritty line laid bare by sere weeds
Of winter,
A restless tranter eulogised:
“Ce est Paris!”
From the whistling, grating metro to the navel of
Elevated Eiffel, the tall, metallic maiden,
I saw frantic beauty.
I inhaled the peace of the atrium, sighting
Our Dame....
“Ce est Paris!”
The voice, girly, and with the earnestness
Of chivalrous youth, came again, cold and soft,
Just the way of a sprightly winter.
Turning, I saw Paris in full nakedness of her beauty, like
A priceless fresco hanging from the sky.
“Do you need company?” The tranter anglicised her French.
In one gulp I swallowed the pride of Paris.
“Hmmm!” I grunted, wincing loudly from brio,
Counting my woes should I plod away to the red light areas,
“Give me Shakespeare and Company”.

Some people believe
that dogs have no words.
Perhaps they've never
heard the language of dogs.
In the heart of a guide dog,
there is language,
and in moments of danger,
appropriate actions speak eloquently.
The gaze with which they watch
their handler from behind
is language itself.
They communicate words
to those who cannot see.
Their quiet conversation,
though inaudible to others,
still reaches its intended listener.

It can get a bit chaotic…
deciding which Glenn Hughes album
to listen to next
With over fifty years of music
he has so many different flavors to choose from
funk, blues, heavy to name a few
I try to ease the chaos
by listening to a single set list on YouTube
or my vinyl record player
But sometimes it gets overwhelming
to decide which album and songs to play
as they are all so eloquently superb
So as I construct my own chaos
I get the experience of a lifetime
as I get to listen to Glenn Hughes day and night
I come to ask you now…
will you construct your own chaos
and listen to Glenn Hughes as I do?
Yes, it is entropy we seek…
organized chaos
as only Glenn can lead us through

Today my older grandson, the four year old,
Asked his mom,
“Who are you talking to when you’re talking to yourself?”
And it made me think a few things;
One, that the kid is bright and has a bright future
Two, that I sure never thought such things at four
Three, that it is a solid basis for a life of inquiry.
As Nietzsche so eloquently said,
“If you wish to strive for peace of soul and pleasure, then believe; if you wish to be a devotee of truth, then inquire.”
It gives me great peace of soul and pleasure
To know my grandson will be a devotee of truth.

The contests started slowly
all in appreciation of Glenn Hughes
Only a few would enter
using inspired words so eloquently
But in due time the Glenn Hughes contests
caught on fire
and everyone was scrambling to enter
The contests filled up so quickly
I as judge had to breathe deeply
to concentrate
It came a time I didn’t have to remind people…
“Remember, we all love Glenn”
And then came the blogs
detailing the excitement of the chase
But people would cry
if they didn’t get first place
as the trophy was designated
for only the best Glenn Hughes inspired poem
Now if you have gotten this far in the poem
you may be asking yourself
What the heck did I just read?!?
You read Love for Glenn
The Voice of Rock
and about the poems and contests that support him
So without further ado
if you haven’t already
find a Glenn Hughes song that inspires you
and enter the latest contest
YouTube awaits you and maybe just maybe
Glenn will be watching

When I let go of all types of people in my life
Little by little went the dissolving strife
Slow and more slowly crept in the peace
Cutting off that dead fruit in my life was a relief
More vividly and beautifully my days started to come
Coming back into me - the joy and sense again of being young
Age is but a number - in a world of numbers
Be one of those awoken and not one of those that slumbers
You can't help what others say and do
All you can help is the reaction of you
Leave the past behind and just walk away
Never believe those who say they'll stay
Never believe anyone or anything if your vibe and energies are off
Always trust it - even if making sense it's not
Keep alert with eyes open and maybe you'll see
Just what that intuition that day was telling you and me
Find rationalization in a world that makes absolutely no sense
Eloquently performed - leave no fingerprints
Be tolerant of others and their beliefs
Be the much-needed planet's masterpiece

Not Many Amen’s Today
Miracle Man
September 22, 2024
Today’s sermon centered
on Christian’s complaining.
Often this is confused
with a Christian explaining?
When life things are amiss
we all yield to this temptation.
But in truth both words
aren’t some new connotation.
While our pastor so eloquently
expounded on biblical views.
His message landed generally
on quiescent filled pews.

Only thirty-three tries times ten plus three,
not a sacred sweep more or a line less;
That looks like an angel number to me;
Numerology with style to impress
whispers gently speaking eloquently;
‘Writers bring the world fervor and finesse.
As the Muse sends torrential stars falling,
onto the page letters land snowballing.’

I'm standing on a fragrant lily field
by the serene bay towards midnoon,
falcons gather by the splashing rocks
with eyes that scare away hungry larks;
they must catch their prey and be fed:
they'll attack with their claws a buffoon
who laughs and breaks the stiff stillness,
stumbling down the shell-strewn dunes!
One can see the wide wings of geese
that flap hard against the spiritless air
before encountering the menacing storm;
they faintly honk over the grove of fir...
then, they vanish from sight to divert fear:
happy was their spring and they did perform
eloquently to delight senses and release
a sound merrier than that of a flycatcher!
The sea-breeze turns into violent gusts,
they roar bending beeches and spruces;
drowsy seagulls feel the blast of incoming rain,
they refuse to leave their haven huddling closer....
thinking it won't last to endure useless disdain:
should I heed the warning and run faster than a deer?
I have a half mile to go before I can defy the insidious threat;
my clothes are getting drenched, but I don't show any fret!

Years delivered my mind, from the shadows left behind,
Darkest calamity, sucking me into the tragedy,
Feeling less like the dream I chased, like the darkness of disgrace.
Soundless images roar through my soul, creating fear, so out of control, while my heart beats, rhythmic, like the colors of woe, lifeless stillness, in the empty room where I go…
To remember the joy, the readiness, the yearning
Breath of a prayer, still burning, through my memories, as they seek to see, through me – the honesty, confessing,
To the need, the need – the seed, who was once buried in me, a piece of me, but, only for a time before life decided….
To remind me, most eloquently, where I once yearned for the blessing, - baby, child, newborn life,
Someone who would be mine – to love…
Now, the empty room remembers, as the still, cool September,
Blazes with crisp, vibrant leaves, imagining the beauty who I will never see.
In me, there is a need who’ll never find relief,
A need to reach into that empty room, see the sweetness of a cure,
For the harsh reality, who is the cloud of infertility!

It's my words. if I start to play I will
sing for this. My piano
Assist and shift. I will also linger
In the midst of it. How will I say?
Mention a meaningful statement.
The linguistics of it? How will anybody
Ever know my thoughts if I will not
Rhyme in time? Who am I though
Just a poet little known? Unknown
At home? Am I only a poet? Will I
Forever be known as unknown?
How will anybody ever know of me?
Am I? Am I? I Might be a blank you
See? I do read most important and
Many known poets of eloquence
Eloquently. Elegancey! See? Pass the doorway of
Remembering I press my finger to
The bell of fame. Soon everybody
Will know my name!
There's an answer....

Such an array of complex verse,
orchestrated by a few crazy poets;
Catastrophe of emotions
instigate more than a few masterpieces;
Engage to inspire that’s the goal,
tighten a skill release a breath of words;
Yank along a heartbeat and write,
over and over again;
Feathers and ink join in a light
succumbing to a prompt or a soft purr;
Eloquently they swirl it all together,
catastrophe of emotions;
Rare phrases revitalized
each with a brand new twist,
tantalizing other poets to
learn what this group is all about;
You present a poem to earn a spot,
perhaps twenty lines, perhaps not;
Unequivocally your work,
unequivocally your soul;
Unconventional ways to think
result in classically avant garde;
Rambunctious just like kittens,
feisty when excited about something;
Encouraging the group to stretch
constantly from their norm;
Together a poetic tour de force;
Pulling a group into a round robin,
out of nowhere they find a home;
Everyone welcome just bring a pen,
take a try at a masterclass;
Society of secretly puuurrfect poets.
