Eggplant stuffed mama sporting a big dress
With two twin rams – lettuce and watercress
Marched into the fray and demanded to be heard.
Some of the thinner women yelled “my word!”
I pretended that eggplant mama was as thin as me
Which is not so thin now that I am two hundred and three
But there is a difference for she is an eggplant, and I am a hog.
The rams were immediately chased downhill by an old farm dog.

Fear, like global gossip - a wolfish sci-fi blob;
under-the-bed and closet monsters DO exist.
Twenty-twenty will live iconically as "The year that wasn't".
The year that mind morphing pods consumed sensibility
- when pointed fingers and screams chased
the witches of blame and resentment
until their drowning breaths were silent.
While few dare to sip from the poison chalice,
the jester insists ... as metaphors become
morbid realities.

It was moms birthday she loved eggplant
I didn't hear the man as he began to rant
I was a cooked child kneeling on stoic air
in the back room I ate, without his stare
a purple eggplant was devoured as I trembled
wolfing it down, I quickly re-assembled
no I did not care, mom wasn't there
to see her child labor without fair, fare .
