If I could ease your load
By letting you know
How much you give to others
Just by being a decent brother
I would try to tell you though
No words can accurately paint
The majestic crown on your head
You inherited your title
As a king you can never be less
Than you are genetically blessed to be
Stand tall be all that and never lose your vision
You have a job to do
Only you can be who you are
You are a unique light
Even when your job, your life has a dark side
Never forget for some you are
An example even a sample
Of just how real men roll
Of how good God is to know
When you have a crown, cap, dreads or bald head
Royal skin kissed by the sun

The Devil Dreads the Introvert

THE DEVIL dreads THE INTROVERT

A metonym
of metonymy,
Introvertishly
devilish.
Never gets

word famish,
eruption of moods
heated-up in solitary;
Sudden upheaval

wrecks a show.
Even
Devil quivers,
Pampering
the introvert,
Mute saturation

of ambiance, even
Silence shivers;
Seismic shift...
Outspoken
quietness,

Sullenly silent,
Words token,
somberly sulking.
Raise a dust,

strike our pulse...
what's the fuss?
Carnival of fear,
confusion 'ere there,
Word economy
is his human anatomy.

Dreads

i used to
walk the
cornrows
shooting
mourning
doves as
they flew
out as
fast as
clay pigeons

now my eyes
are following
the cornrows
of her hair
from fore
head to
nape
like
following
a maze but

not wanting
to escape
so by
braiding
ex
tensions
ex
tend
my
stay

Voice From My Heart

I can walk, talk,
Think and breath,
I can try, cry,
understand and comprehend.

My past is a video,
My present is a concern,
My future is a vision,
My voice is volume less.

I have friends, some with dreads,
Together we have been,
Together we will learn to be,
Though some we have thrown in the bins.

Some come and go,
Others remain,
Some remain as statues,
Others remain as ladders.

I am the definition of poverty,
The symbol of struggle,
I am the parable of the hunter in reality,
The spear of the great jungle.

My heart posses nothing, but peace,
My mind corresponds nothing but reality,
My exsistance is a threat for some,
My presence is a blessing for others.

I sweat for my stomach,
"I wish I was a soldier",
Sometime I imagine,
Perhaps I could stand much more stronger.

There is no more war,
Yet I am attacked,
All I ask is to prolong my life,
All I seek is harmony.

Apologies for any hurts,
Together we can cross beyong imagining,
This is the voice from my heart,
The melody of my tongue,
The suspension of my moods,
The hidden part of my True " I".

Winter Dreads

Winter Dreads

From October through March
A muddy river runs deep
Through some aged or troubled souls.

Hidden there somewhere
Is the sadness of many
Winters gone by of old.

Dear friends are lost
And lonely long nights,
While it seems others have happier roles.

Oh, hide it, old hearts,
Or more still will withdraw!
Must be pleasant at all costs for lonely is cold!

Sometimes, tho, it's so good to let go
In your own secret
Hiding place.

Where your own Someone who huddles
Invisibly does cuddle,
Understanding all hurts behind the face.

Dreads

Some think its ugly
dreads are natural hair art
apart ones identity

discriminated
everyone not a bad thug
dreads get a bad rep

seen most successful
with locks swing proudly head high
most beautiful art
