Altho' fearless it was flightless
I do declare
and when it found itself earthbound
was the dodo despondent in despair
or even think
it would become extinct
if it knew it was in
deep doo-doo
somewhat akin
to the the missing link
unafraid of man
who thought them dumb
as they come on the quiet
an easy prey for sailors
a whole new different dinner diet
but there was nothing

enquiring minds need to know
there hasn't been one here for years
so wherever did it go
and what about the telephone box
or the answer machine
I haven't seen either near it's clear
they're few and far between

Dodo Talk

Words are born and some change, adapt, some wilt;
Norse drips into French seeps into English, hidden treasures under silt.
Blendings swirl meanings and semantics shift our daily use;
once uttered by tongue, electric touch now lets language loose.
Ancient lexis under threat became narrower with colonial treks;
Luhu and Yahagn, two dodo vocabularies now buried within texts.

In Equal Measure - dodo

a man who loves company,
yet treasures his solitude.
just leave him alone, for now;
don't take it to heart!.

Angel Hair - dodo

spun from silver threads their hair 
is twinkling with spirit light 
Glints that scintillate, with love 
Angel's hair a flow  

Misunderstood Gesture-dodo

Taking him to a garden, 
She sprinkled flowers on him.
He mistook it for child’s play!
Now, she’s someone’s wife!!

Desiring gardenia's scent  
Planting two, praying for blooms
In the quiet, surrounded
By pollen, ahchoo   

eclipsed-dodo

when the sunlight disappeared,
all around, the black of night
tinged my heart and every mood.
then ~ I saw your smile...

A gut punch - gone forever
Life will never be the same
Hers, lost to a stray bullet
Phew, a frightful dream
