Can't keep refusing it's on the hands of you
Is this the haunting image of hell I view?
So, to care or plead for my discreet silence
Weak hands are calling to you for guidance
Praying to get help for feelings that permeate
Like watching, hurting, rolled down a sewer grate
Gentle hands tapping a telegraph in dotted code
Seek to find salvation before all these feelings erode
Scared to run, diseases like this don't seem to phase you
Are the answers to it all, I read, found in a hard wooden pew
I wish I had your faults, there aren't many, but I have found a few
Wringing hands, no answers, come fly around my hell, all a skew
No blasphemy intended, no one nailed to the board
Once written, answers in time, by the pearl gate lord
Over and over, and over again,
unendingly,
like waves that rise up on the sandy shore
and lap at my feet, only to turn and once more ebb
languidly
in discreet silence, but then come back to lap once more.
To reflect on you and all you mean to me,
sublimely
brings waves of happiness in every possible way
and, gratefully, I muse about all the things you do
unselfishly,
often in silence, but over and over again each day.
And like the ocean’s amaranthine waves,
rhythmically
you cast your magic spell, filling my soul like a rhapsody
through and through,
lusciously
invoking warm, endearing thoughts of you.

Will you come to the great tamarind’s shade
When the noon sun sends cupid with its rays
To play hide and seek with every grass blade
I watch the path with a relentless gaze
Come my love for the world is in a daze
Wear not your anklets as you come my dear
Walk in discreet silence come have no fear
Will you come to the quick footed river
When the full moon lamp is vividly lit
yet in the clouds it seems to disappear
my feet in stream, I shall silently sit
holding a long bamboo flute to my lips
wear not jhumkas tonight, they interfere
with the tune I play only for your ears
Will you come to that broken bullock cart
when dusk lowers its veil down to the field
we shall then talk of matters of the heart
and bite gently into sugar cane's yield
till our lips meet in love and softly sealed
Wear not your coyness leave it far behind
A heart full of love you will surely find.
*jhumkas are long bell shaped earrings often worn by women in the Indian countryside.
