Alexander Graham Bell
It was fine, quiet winter´s day I listened to distant noise,
dogs bark -you can´t avoid this in the Algarve-
smoke from chimneys straight up before disbursing and disappearing.
A few clouds drift about looking like wedding dresses of the unmarried,
The sun is a golden coin captain hook would kill to obtain.
I smell grilled sardine, and a cat on a fence is watching me.
I sternly tell myself to go for a walk before it gets too cold
But blithely ignore the inner voice.
As I drift on a slothful cumulus, my phone rings
I answer the voice says, sorry, the wrong number.

The scientists
It is a tranquil winter day. I listen to a distant nose
a dog barks, typical in Algarve, smoke from chimneys go
straight before disbursing and disappearing.
A few clouds drift about like wedding dresses of the unmarried.
The sun is a golden coin captain Hook would kill for.
I smell grilled sardine, the opening and closing of doors
a cat sits on a wall watching me.
I go into a café, three scientists talk about Mars, until one says
let us talk about marine biology.
The other two laugh. Do you mean grilled sardines?
They are theoretical physicist and thing they are bees’ knees.
I drink coffee, eat a Napoleon cake.
Drive home, it has been a good day when the phone rings
I don´t bother to answer it.

Ringing phone
It is a perfectly quiet winter day I listen to distant noise
dogs bark -can`t avoid that in Algarve- smoke from chimneys
goes straight up before disbursing and disappearing.
A few clouds drifts about like wedding dresses of the unmarried
the sun is a golden coin captain Hook would kill for.
I smell grilled sardines, the opening and closing of doors and
a cat sits on a wall watching me.
I sternly tell myself to go for a walk before it gets afternoon and
cold again, but I blithely ignore the voice I feel so wonderfully
lazy I drift on a cloud of slothful bliss then the phone rings when
I answer a voice tells me it was a wrong number

“Haiku”
sunbeam dances light
among briers and bramble….
maker's tapestry
sharp lines intertwine
daintily paint silhouettes….
against twilight sky

“Quatrain”
Dark forest captures life
disbursing death’s deep vale.
Vague inner quiet rife
along each winding trail.
Vines seductively twine
concealing that within.
Constructing forest shrine
deeply obscured fox den.

“Tanka”
In its quaint abode
beneath emerald canopy
opens woodland doors
to a vast menagerie
encased in green blanket mold
new life beginning to end.

Your spores, seeds not gratuitously panned
Randomly disbursing; o'er dale, hill fanned
In due season, without preening hand
In quilted colonies, shroud the hinterland
No cultivating touches o'er clandestine strand
No manicured plot o'er uncultured roots spanned
No bridled station your space to remand
In tidy rows you'll never band
No gilded plot, burnished borders to withstand
In unfettered, raw beauty o'er pristine vistas expand
No decorative vase your value to brand,
Or vaunted dais imperiously grand

Slick seaweed captures her footprints.
Rock jetty perils are concealed
as a thick, salty shroud begins to lift.
Waves’ power lures her.
Above deep water she bends,
chilled by spray and cool December winds,
intoxicated by sea scents.
The aroma carries her back,
drifting to days and nights
when bluefish aplenty they’d caught here.
Memories of their laughter,
playful, loving voices
reverberate across the rocks.
Tears she sheds for just four years of bliss.
“Not long enough,” murmurs the young widow,
a siren crooning to the waves for one more day.
Lifting fog reveals a shooting star;
many had stroked the black velvet heaven
on romantic nights shared here.
Recognizing the sign, she gently lifts the lid,
disbursing his ashes,
tenderly fulfilling his wish.
He wanted to be one with the sea
part of an eternal life
they would soon share.

Swirling wisps mount the horizon
Cresting over their funnel spouts
Steaming ground-swells incubate on earth's oven
Thermal currents surge upward through the convector
Cooling reams ballast the sides descending the shaft
Energizing columns fueling the expanding balloon
Cooling and condensing into droplets of dew sublime
Pairing together in cacophonous chorus ascending briny ladder
Billowy bowls fill with sappy streams of bliss
Bulging at seams, burst, spewing torrents of angry tears
Gushing waterfalls cascade in a tumult through the jaded prism
Schizophrenic remnants clash; their titan charges pulsing fire
Cymbals clang as the lightening attack shocks the airy ramparts
Earth's thirsty crust satiated with the inundating flow
Boisterous tides rill disbursing indiscriminately

not just in my head
i like joining force
with all the lovers of love
peace love karma dream
sending that wavelength
creating a cloud of love
disbursing through out
the known universe
and beyond knowing it's the

Beneath the putter
of December skies
twists the Magus,
who floats on dreams
concocted by
mortal lies
ensnared
in flecks
shed from
fear.
Such
wondrous
bounties
consume
vital tissue,
disbursing all
pure matter squeezed
through ecology
like fees tendering
lost gifts precious.
