Twisted
thoughts, willy-nilly, drift out of mind
restless in the muddle of entanglements
things
twisted
like my garden watering hose that weeps the earth to life
a bold green pushed to fruition
twisted
like winding highways that overtake you with litter
scraps of fast food for gulls in cherished feeding
twisted
like student summer factory work that manufactures
cursing
when assembly line work disassembles purpose
twisted
like landfill debris of mangled cellphones
tech faith that ushers us to connective clutter
twisted
like barely concealed malice
an ugliness unfolding worthy of trash TV
twisted
like war's celebratory cruelty, the tyrant's glee
in threatening a seeded nuclear future
still
in the midst of blaze and fumes, caress what's most
vulnerable
affirm the grit of human living
and hold out hope
like a candle hovering just outside a keyhole

Spy Bug
Her computer had a spy bug
So, she pulled it from the wall plug
She disassembles it quick
Then used a new trick
Giving the system a debug tug

All In
Earth's gravity tumbles, I'm loony for love
All truth disassembles, my guilt wears no glove,
In honoring Father, the gift of His Son,
My deeds all forgiven, my end quite undone.
Who else can I turn to, (for you're everywhere),
A rider of tides (my day’s drift is to share).
Hand’s off of the reins now; my muse has its head,
Though values stay with me (so I am not dead!)
I’m one with your sunrise, delight in your dreams,
At rest when you’re sleeping, my fount of all streams.

Journey To Ourselves
Journey to ourselves
Like a journey to find ourselves and inner source
finding friends along the way
to find the selfless courage and strength to be
in this light of day
Between the worlds of good and bad
beyond what was and is to be
to transcend individual indifference and leave
control at bay
Within the fantasy of a dream
garden mazes and costume stages
come and join life’s circle
Where form disassembles and distractions
fade away
come occupy this space within
the place of mind to be
Where boundaries fade and melt away
and foreground becomes a figure
of a universe in a grain of sand or seed
come and occupy this place
Where all are free to share
and become the change we seek
in which the inner child speaks
come enter the circle
Where they lend a hand and pull you up
and let you live and be
where freedom is true and things are fair
and justice is defined in our daily deeds

Words
That an oral tradition has had such a lasting impact on humanity is astonishing.
Since they first came out of the mouths of people,
they have shot forth like an ever expanding bullet.
Through the barrel of time, always changing; morphing into other languages,
distorting and splattering themselves onto pages with God as the culprit.
1455: Gutenberg disassembles that power at the pulpit, and with his machine made it safe to handle the story, and for it to continue--fully automatic in the hands of the people.
Loaded onto ships, cocked back, bound in leather, and overseen by sages they became
canon fodder for vast bodies of people. Left to ponder this; the power of the old English word, and if all the dead had heard.
