the vampire ball will be held in Salem for a lark
a place where witches don’t like to be after dark
I went anyway, with my cousin Glud
For he loves gruesome stuff, gore and blood
I was dressed in the brightest purple I could find
with homemade black tulle ruffles, the stiffening kind
it was low cut, so my neck could be easily bled
In case a vampire needed to be diligently fed.
I am wearing a garter belt that is satin with a bow
Attached are old world hose, silky ones that flow
My high heeled shoes are painted red on the bottom
The vampire ball is held, of course, predictably in autumn
I am expecting a blood-letting, without benefit of leeches.
I have already had that happen at one of the beaches
a handsome vampire will dive down and take my hand
And lead me through his silver tongue to the promised land.
My cousin Glud has been told to get lost when he arrives.
I expect my handsome prince to come down in fancy dives
He will be wearing a tuxedo that matches my satin dress.
We will be such a great twosome, I’ll have to attend church and confess.

He cries
Yes sometimes
The memory burnt in
Hot iron press into his weak mind
He saw the flowers yet again
Some bustling with life
Half drooping and dying diligently
And he saw
Theres something sinister in the mind
When you realize you near the end of a chapter
All you can do is read on until it ends
...
Well what if you dont want it to end
Stopping reading would be stopping everything
And reading is your life
Escaping or reality of the mind
He knew he was nearing the end of that chapter
All he wanted was to hold on
Read a little bit slower
So mabye
Just mabye
He could enjoy his comfort for a little bit longer
See he is plagued
Not with a disease no
But with foresight
He knew again it was ending
And it ended
And it broke him
All he could see were the flowers
Tears meandered the regular path on his dry cheek
He could still see it
As he slowly forgot her face
The flowers
Sitting atop the dresser

the trunk of my car hides things I do not remember owning
sixteen Christmas presents that probably did not get delivered
because this is mid-May and Christmas is in December or January
three or four sweatshirts I diligently searched for in February
but did not find until today
notebook paper pages have been torn into bitty bits by mice
I am glad they enjoyed trunk of my car this winter
It is weird the rodents did not nestle in my scarves and hats
knitted in soft yarns in blues and whites
I sort out my car trunk for twenty-six and a half minutes
It seemed like two days of dull boring sorting
I resolve to sort the rest of it in the next year or so
All I needed was space for my suitcase.

The world is bleeding, from the inside out,
with a punctured heart ready to burst.
Call Universal O- blood donors.
They may be able to save the most first.
A rain of tears cleanses streets from the red-
stained, dripping sheet-shrouds oozing children's blood.
While flesh is shredded from human bone by-
natural forces of wind, earth, and flood.
The world lies, wounded, bleeding in our E.R.
being diligently worked on for life.
Are we the Universal O- blood donors?
Or murderers armed with a deadly knife?
Father, we pray your kind Mercy draws nigh.
As many each day will bleed out and die.
Type O Negative O negative is the most common blood type used for transfusions when the blood type is unknown. This is why it is used most often in cases of trauma, emergency, surgery and any situation where blood type is unknown.

Small sized; bouncy balloon poppin’ at the break of dawn.
Countless children; swiftly skipping, emit plentiful smiles of joy!
Hovering high, confetti spills like salt, sheer thrills!
Rising and riding, the sunny sun heats up from within.
Diligently dancing, with what is a fervor,
Now, coolness meets my eyes; miraculous mighty night.
Silent nice night; massive moon,
Spontaneous silver moon, why would you come so soon?

Driving by faith*, heart looks
to God midst life's road trips
of triumph's twist and turns
surmounting trial-bumps
then refreshed as pitstops
whisper, “welcome, dear soul.”
*Hebrews 11:6 ...Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

It's as if this love for her is an infectious disease
But I am still stubborn
To my heart's troublesome manners
Liquid bliss to my taste buds
I can only decay from the leak of her
I immerse myself daily in the thought of her
She is disgusted by my rage-full desires
Diligently I preserve my soul for her
I can only wish for her thoughts
And dream of her love's embrace
Countless hours of tears
As it rains upon my pillow
I swear, if it wasn't for this hopeless desire for her
I am hopelessly lost without her

Seventeen was a time of nonchalant moments,
taking strolls on breezy lanes, smelling jasmines,
waving at the farmer tending to the rich harvest:
mystery unrevealed itself, making adventure last!
Who hasn't explored wonderous Nature hasn't felt joy,
harmonious and picturesque hills of various shades excited
this boy's flaming eyes drawing them a step closer to God;
there's was no thought of going back to town and play!
Should silver hair remind everyone how old I am?
I lived life well with the prospective to extend years
and be that example of longevity forgetting birthdays;
I saw a feeble man struggling on a cane: that was Sam!
No journey is too burdensome if planned diligently,
youth is the base of all awareness and confidence,
and from it springs forth the enthusiasm of excellence;
cultivate every virtue practiced and spoken so humbly!
Careless lives are cut short by ingesting those harmful substances,
puffing on cigarettes, gulping down excessive amount of deadly alcohol;
these people will not survive youth but destroy it with nasty habits:
how delightful is to spot silver hair, thinking to oneself:" I managed well! "

The slope is tiring
I have been diligently struggling
The top of the mountain is called bliss
My eyes scotched to it
I keep trying to reach its peace
Yet, I could not anticipate myself
Breaking into pieces, tearing myself up
From the depths of my heart
Wanting to keep focused on the summit
Yet, wanting to be touched by the magical fireflies once again
Wanting solely the intoxication and the play of emotions
As they invade my mind, writing poetry on the walls of my sanctuary
And creating ripples in my sleeping pond
Breaking up from the inside
Swallowing myself up from within
Drowning in my own starry sparkles
Seeking only a moment to explain
To receive and to hold on tightly to forgiveness
As a fully bloomed flower,
Fragranced and shining so bright that simply by gazing at it
The whole world would be dazzled!

Wow, another Super Bowl Sunday is upon us here,
While it's treated like a national holiday.
Yet consumption can be measured by all the beer,
As the gallons are poured while they play.
No matter the victor, there's a residue of pain,
As the long off-season is cause for withdrawl.
Even though touchdowns may set records to gain,
They're soon forgotten as the sports world is a crawl.
Now fans do their best to show interest elsewhere,
However basketball and golf just don't fill the void.
This is where the withdrawl is thick in the air,
Only to desperately begin searching their I-phone or android.
We mustn't forget another creation in the wake,
When millions of football widows then flood the streets.
Looking diligently for another interest they can take,
That won't remind them of shoulder pads or cleats.
So as the build-up to the game slowly comes to pass,
We should mention the epic commercials that are placed.
As they attempt to ease the pain from fumbles on the grass,
To all those that lost their bets...and have that bad aftertaste.

Arrogance does reign
hoisting human nature’s gain ---
notwithstanding, we are led toward downfall pain.
Beyond towering pride
that offers us jubilant ride---
nevertheless, there awaits fatal stride.
Admitting weakness blight
we seek God’s help for righteous plight---
now, we walk along divine light.
Freed from selfishness-guile
we are braced to walk along kindness’ mile---
negating heart that projects fake smile.
Exuding confident meekness so vibrant
our spirits glow, graciously radiant
nestled in sincere faith*, serenely triumphant.
