She’s a versatile Virgo, queen of rhymes
her keen quill sees through society’s crimes
an aura, mirroring strength~
kindness that spans any length
weaves beauty in eloquence, through rough times…
I thank the stars for her sweet existence
always makes me laugh despite the distance
she tells fun tales about love
to the galaxies above
sprinkling sage hearts with cosmic persistence….

Who's from a beautiful state of Utah;

Here lies the remains of Dietrich Hoeschen
Died in an unexpected coal mine explosion,
He never regretted going underground
So in this final resting place we found
He’s safe from any further earth erosion.

My humble tribute to our dear poetess of Soup, Andrea Dietrich as she will be celebrating her birthday on September 5. I am posting this poem earlier, so that she gets more wishes on her birthday and that it be a memorable one.
A brilliant poetess of the Soup family,
Never does she fail to encourage new poets;
Diligent in doing her duties with zeal,
Relishes watching movies and writing reviews,
Enjoys cooking and eating healthy food.
At home, a loving wife, mom and gramma.
Dedicated in doing her job as a teacher.
Inspite of her busy schedule, I wonder when I see
Each day, a fresh exquisite flower of verse,
That blooms and adorns her poetic rockery;
Reaches out to all dear members of Soup,
Inspiring them with her genuine comments;
Cheerful, charming, lively and fun-loving:
Her upcoming birthday will be incomplete sans all your wishes friends

‘An ember sparked will softly glow’
Nicely worded by her pen in “Cinder Girl”
Dietrich gives the heart a brilliant show
Reminding youth to be true to who you are
Ending up the lyric, “Know what you want”
Assuring them to ‘Go for it’ – be a star!
Delivering “Angels in the Rain” to us all
Including words about God’s love
Ending thoughts making one feel small
Teaching always, about hope within
Reminding us that ‘he has my heart’
In, “Love at First Sight” and I grin
Cherishing this poetess and her gift
Heaven knows how her poems do lift

her format for this form
iambic trimeter

~~~~~~~~~~
Hex Sonnetta
The Hex Sonnetta, created by Andrea Dietrich, consists of two six-line stanzas and a finishing rhyming couplet with the following set of rules:
Meter: Iambic Trimeter. Rhyme Scheme: abbaab cddccd ee. Iambic Trimeter means the usual iambic (alternating unstressed/stressed) meter for every line of the poem, but instead of the ten syllables that comprise a typical sonnet’s iambic pentameter, this particular form uses six syllables of iambic trimeter per line, hence the name Hex Sonnetta.
after "Ich bin die fesche Lola" sung by Marlene Dietrich
I'm easy-going Lola, the girl who's most in voque.
The Nutella in my pantry is there for none but me.
I'm easy-going Lola, the heartthrob a la mode,
but hands off my Nutella, or my other side you'll see.
I.m easy-going Lola ,the girl who's most in vogue
The Nutella in my pantry is stacked next to the gin.
I'll let you walk me homeward, though you are a rogue,
but hands off my Nutella, or I'll kick you in the shin.
Lola, Lola! the boys l know who I am.
You can take my marmalade, if that is what you seek.
I.m not one to be petty, so take my strawberry jam,
but fingers off Nutella, or it's hospital all week/
Andrea Dietrich and Dunkirk
Sure seem to be so many similarities,
Along with varieties and familiarities;
When compared,
And also shared;
Sometimes disturbed by disparities.
Do take awesome Battle of Dunkirk,
And way out everything would work;
Harvey hurricane,
Sadness remain;
Much love was there as it would lurk.
There are so many similarities between
Battle of Dunkirk, Hurricane Harvey,
Mrs. Miniver's Rose and Gwaltney
Island. All of the children had to be
removed and taken to the English
mainland. The island knew that they
would be overtaken by the Germans
during World War II. English people
went over to Dunkirk in boats. The
Battle of Normandy also reminds
me of much of this. Jim Horn
A curvaceous young lady - Andrea
Had a cute tush or should I say rear
Men wanted to touch
Her bum (it was lush)
But her husband wouldn’t let them get near!
A beautiful lady Andrea
Her hair it turned greyer and greyer
She said my oh my
Reached for the hair dye
Rich brown hair dye will not betray her!
Some months ago I had a discussion with Andrea about the differences in pronunciation between the UK and the US . I say her name AND REAR others say her name AND RAYA.
