Premium MemberAfter Fifty Years

You won't kill the spider that scurries
across the floor of our living room,
but you once killed solders at the Chosin.

You called them gooks, then,
now you know each was only a man
masked by the face of dehumanizing war.

After fifty years true faces turn toward you.

In life you never heard their voices,
in death they speak, and you agree,
the Forgotten War never can be.

*********** As A Dehumanizing Force to Women

My wife told me yesterday, that she believes that women today have achieved equality both politically and socially and that nothing further needs to be done on the issue of women's rights. I agreed with her that women today are in
a better situation than they were 50-60 years ago.
But when the topic of *********** came across my mind in the conversation, I told her that there are many women still who are involved in the **** industry, a dehumanizing force that sells women to the male population as an object and not someone to be taken seriously with a brain or with a soul or feelings.

Premium MemberI Want To Be An American

Please. Would someone correct me
If I am wrong or fail to understand?
Maybe it's just me. Or maybe I'm dreaming.

But I am at a loss and find it rather
Nonredemptive when in America, we are
Continually speaking in terms of;
The first this or the first that,
Relative to race, ethnicity, or religion?

i.e., The first Catholic, Jewish, or Protestant this,
The first female that, the first male this, the first
Black that, the first Asian this, the first Hispanic
That. And the list seems endless.

Will we ever get to the place when the mentioning of such
Will not matter? Is it wishful thinking? Is it probable or
Even possible that one day, we will all simply be AMERICANS?

Make no mistake, I understand America's sordid past and our
Dehumanizing history of disenfranchisement, but must we
Go on and on like this? Maybe I'm wrong, but I just want
To be AN AMERICAN.

Hate

Hate

Why must you carry the blackness of hate
Why do you find it so easy to belittle and berate
Anger is such a negative way to communicate
And all it does is create an avenue to separate

To spew a painful, despairingly hurtful word
To another human being can be so absurd
To demean another, his character slurred
While the dehumanizing acts are incurred

Why do you feel you have the right to judge
To let others live their lives, you begrudge
Your rage released with the slightest nudge
And all of your intolerance will never budge

We must learn to accept people whoever they are
From whenever and wherever both near and far
Racism and hatred can leave such a permanent scar
These traits, a learned process, an ugly repertoire

Sunrise Feathers In a Vase

They "flock together",
these girls. They
are "birds of the same feather".

They are so intelligent,
they are so articulate
with their words..

while they speak
on the radio, the news..
a girl's life

is unjust. We will,
they think, speak of others,
their plight..

we will, they say,
thread her mockable..?
degrading..? ("INJUSTICES",

SHE would say),
into the broadcast of a news show;
insulting, dehumanizing

the girl who could
not spread her "Song-Sparrow" wings.
"Birds of a feather,

they flock together.."
The Guidian Finch has Sunset hues.
A Sunrise could be a light peach-

cream tinted bird:
those colors on a bird do not exist,
cannot fly..or paint a Heaven.

The windows
frame the portrait of the Spring-
green-brown-eyed girl..

a blue-jay, the tincture
of a brilliant April sky,
with snow-white bursts

as bright as a noon Sun,
casts a small shadow...
within the limbs

of a blossoming tree,
whose tiny flowers are a sun-lit decor
of a glass house.

Since It Is Sunday

If men, mainly MILITARY-loving men, loved their wives
We would have less violence in America, and on the planet

The Bible, oddly, does NOT instruct women to LOVE their husbands:
"Men, love your wives as Christ loved the church, and died for her"

What are wives and women called to do:
The usual, the real thing that wins men over, "RESPECT" or admire!

SERMONETTE: The sad accusation that Paul in Ephesians (Or his letters generally) is chauvinistic falls flat, in the context of just 3 verses - not having you read the whole Bible. The above call that MEN LOVE and sacrifice for their wives - as Jesus is also a Head - comes in verse 25. In verse 22 of Ephesians Chapter 5, "Wives obey your husbands as to the LORD." If you have nothing to do with LORD and Jesus, this does not apply to you. So chill ...

Men and husbands can tell empty words of love and respect: they judge, even unknown to themselves, by the respect you have for them as Head of Home. If you do as they suggest (so long as it is legal and not dehumanizing), they KNOW you are in love. Words, sweet nothings, work for some ... Bible truths for me.

I Cant Breath

I feel the choke under the yoke
Of men so dehumanizing
I feel the heel of their rugged boots...
Choking the breath off me
I feel the touch of their tough dark hearts
Smearing at my restless me straining under their strain
I can't breath

I feel it like I were the helpless innocent God made dark coloured paralysed son of man
Dehumanized by the so uncouth not so cultured, heartless sinners of ages.
I can't breath

Its not me without me in this island
Didn't God create all of us in his own image.?
Who issued the ticket in the thicket to a thicksome, gruesome, bad to the eyes a scene that God will never approve of?
The thought of it, such a suffocating milestone.!
I can't breath

Who can breath?
Who will breath?
How do we breath?
How shall we breath?
Who has the answer?
I can't breath!

Demons and Angels

Demons
Deliriously dancing, destroying, dehumanizing decent desires
Attending adequate, amiable attractive, adoring ambient
Angels

Police Corps

P-arading at ceremonies, protecting and preventing conflicts and violence
O-fficiating official outings and offering guides and shields
L-anguishing your own at any point of call
I-nvestigating initials of the inevitable crimes and dooms
C-onfident to move to meet flaming fuse and fights
E-xpectations too huge to meet …’where were the police?’

C-rimes deter your presence in humility and respect
O-bvious are the dangers you put yourself in
R-estoring peace in spite of dehumanizing talks and comments
P-rincipled to practice in even peculiar situations
S-ervice which is life’s sacrifice for a nation

Segregated Shadows

Within the shadow of a broken heart,
Darkness decrees its penumbra of night…
Obscurity ovulates embryonic entrapment,
Where solitudes silence the seismic still…

Masquerading malevolence gives a chill,
Walking alone a fragile forlorn fragment…
Lonely landscapes of dreams despite,
Where sorrows surface and hopes depart…

Hide my disposable dehumanizing heart,
For the nightmares reign within the light…
The loneliness lingers upon the lions’ lament,
And the teratogenic tears of tomorrow refill…

Silent screams surround my serpentine shrill,
The fearsome fallen angels are hellion sent…
For within the mist of sadness they delight,
Within the shadow of a broken heart.
