Health Kick

He's on a health kick,
Running until he's feeling sick.
No alcohol or flavoured vapes,
Sleeping eight hours with closed drapes.

Chopping up veggies with brown rice,
Drinking green smoothies with cubes of ice.
Avoiding French fries and burger meals,
Measuring his blood pressure when he feels.

Chicken is his only meat,
Especially eaten as a treat.
He has decaffeinated tea and coffee,
And natural sweetness in his banoffee.

Enjoying pasta with basil oil,
Some sourdough pieces, quite small.
Swimming daily fifty lengths,
To keep up his body strength.

He's a regular at the gym,
His personal trainer looks up to him.
Because he's on a health kick,
And exercising until he's feeling sick.

Premium MemberThe Bubbly

I need the satisfaction of a cold carbonated cola
it smooths my stomach with a burp, love that soda
I drink diet caffeine free don't need empty calories
Like the Coca Cola gold and white label Pepsi
Try to get the Dr. Pepper one is an impossibility
Sometimes I just want the fun and flavor of a bubbly
those bubbles tickle your nose and make a happy tummy
Diet fruit flavors and the clear lemon limes
are almost all caffeine free for bubbly time
A doc told me that caffeine could trigger my gout
so now caffeine I can gladly live without
Sure I drink decaffeinated coffees and teas
And water is always a way to stay healthy
I need the happiness you get with an ice cold cola
so allow me my caffeine free diet sodas

Premium MemberDecaffeinated Men

There was a time when freedom
was found outside the dictionary,
in the hearts and minds of men;
we wrote our songs, sang and
danced, proud masters of well-tuned
instruments and pen – how I long
for those days for men to be free
again: regain their balls, before
freedom falls, to the feminine within –

good to be soft and cuddly...but not when
wars to be fought; good to have a gentle
side, but testosterone men should
never deride, for the enemies will
have their hide, make slaves
of decaffeinated warriors – not one
rebellious allowed to survive; their
women and children relegated to
obedient consorts, surplus, roasted
alive....

First steps, every morning, not taken lightly
I move slowly with closed eyes and hands outstretched
Stumbling, mumbling
Like the decaffeinated zombie that I am
CO---FFFFF---EEEEEEE

Then I see my salvation
The only thing capable of turning
a horrible morning in a bearable one
Nectar from the gods
CO---FFFFF---EEEEEEE

Ohhh, saviour of the early day
Killer of the sleeping glands
I'll take a cup with me, on my way
To the daily working dance
CO---FFFFF---EEEEEEE

My first sip: ohhh sweet Ambrosia,
exploding on my tongue, reviving my cells
Thank you, I’ll be able to survive one more day
My preciooouuussss....
CO---FFFFF---EEEEEEE

All Alone

ALL ALONE
She’s alone with a new life inside of her and no where for her to bring it home she feels isolated like one who’s head has been decaffeinated why is she floating a stray oh yea because he left her the day he found out she was going to be changing day by day now she doesn’t know what to do what to look forward to she sees no reason to seek virtue madly in love but the companionship she once had has turned into dust “why would he does this to me “ the thought that runs through her mind constantly she sees no hope that lies in the future behold she feels likes she left in the cold why is it that she is so young with this new life because persuasion and love are the two things add up to be a bad drug now she has lost the one she loves and nothing left to do but look to the man above hold her head high and soar towards the skies you shouldn’t be all alone but look forth to a future and a place to call your own for all you young women who have been deiceived often from the way you are perceived don’t let some one use you for just them to say u were just the next but instead make it your goal to be somebody and strive for the best

THE BUTTON-BACK NURTURERS

…. debt-ridden emotions and emotion-ridden debts –

Oscar Wilde on the Irish

Mothers and matriarchs, you toy the gutted room
Where sensibility is decaffeinated lace
Tireless in your role of martyr and your zoom
Lens to condemnation before an act takes place,

Your constant servitude serving only gloom
Creating recognition of what we all must face,
Death itself, never exhausted, a loom
On which your tapestry is woven, mace

Broken with your unbroken shadow. Love’s vroom
Never gets off the ground or into the race
And is absent save for endless debt, a womb
Of ever-diminishing returns, and the plain case

That you can’t own others, is yours alone to ponder,
In your violated abyss with its pain and rage and wonder.

My Mum Served Me Coffee

Since I was three my mum served me coffee

I was her first child so she was merely experimenting

I bounced to and fro and spoke faster than she

By the time I was four she switched me to decaffeinated tea!

Premium MemberThe Coffee House

The day he took me to Starbucks
I figured I was gaining in luck

Then all he did was complain
How the coffee wasn't humane

It wasn't fit for human comsumption
The tasty treat was dry, their gumption

In serving such unpalatable treat
Oh well, another date now unsweet

Starbucks I still love you even though
Have to get decaffeinated coffee drink slow

Nathan thanks for the challenge

Decaffeinated Sin

I went and signed up for a course to
make sin a whole lot more banal
and a lot less fun to be in,
to make my retentiveness more ****

now chocolate is not as dark and rich
those stolen kisses aren't as sweet
hearing juicy gossip's just a snitch
and pride feels like it's only conceit

five miles over the state's limit
seems like murdering my innocent child
to show up at the free clinic's illicit
I've taken all joy from being free and wild

I'm thinking now of forgetting the damn course
life's no fun since I'm filled with remorse
