A Shout Into the Void

A Shout Into the Void

Can we all agree that if you’re not vaccinated, you
Have to take a
Rapid COVID test before we get together?
If we can’t agree to that, we can’t come to Mom’s,
So I would really appreciate it. Please.
This was my plea; I thought it was simple, reasonable.
Mom is 80, and we didn’t want to risk exposure for her or
Anyone in my husband’s family who we would
See a few days later to celebrate the holidays.

Damn if I didn’t spend the first Christmas in my 56 years
Away from my Mom and family.
Yelling into the void at my unvaccinated nephews, I cry through the day.

Beast of the Sea

Date: Fri, Dec 25 2015 at 5:07 PM

Ain't scared of the Storms
I ride the Waves on my Boards
Surfing The Waves while they Roar
When they Lift up And Swarm
I turn the Liquid into a Solid Form
While I see some afraid by the Shores
I Wave them to be Informed
That by the Raging Beast in the Sea I'm not Conformed
The Storms see I'm a Warrior in this War
They see my Strength has been Reborn
That it has been Adorned
So they calmly let me Sail
The Sky was Pale
The Darkness in the Air Exhales
Then the Light Excels
The thunder & Lighting Strikes
The Thunder Speaks Of The Knight In this Tale
The Storm feels the Might inside the Knight That Wales
Respect from the Beasts of The Sea
The Megaladons Octopus & Whales
Echelon is the Trail
The Sun Shines bright from the East
Looking at my Compass the Voyage isn't Skin Deep
Now his Soul is Free

The Elf

The elf.
Santa was set to come on Dec 25 1901.
But something happens that no one knows.
As Santa was climbing in to his sled. A train fell on his head.
He was out cold and in the snow.
Time was getting short.
And that's when sparks the elf came up with the Idea.
To fill the wishes of each boy and girl.
He jumps in the sled and with a yell off he went in to the night.
From land to land and house to house
He saved Christmas night.
The elf knew what to do and as the sled drove out of sight.
He yelled those words we all know so well,"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND A GOOD NIGHT!!

Sown Or Sewn

http://articles.latimes.com/2004/dec/25/nation/na-cowboy25

Either Sown or Sewn

or Flower or Flour

Either it is to be sewn or sown

Which one should be left alone?

Maybe small seeds or some stitching

Back and forth we are always switching.

Sown seeds will soon start to grow

Flexible fingers become when you sew

So if I should sew or start to embroider

With what will me brain have to reconnoiter?

Into life itself some small seed will spring

And at all when we start to sew anything

A certain pattern will evolve and become

Like my many poems when you read some.

Are sewn and sown really, actually related

Both become building blocks of the educated

Still what you sew or sow will always reap

Even though bills have started piling steep.

Planning Adultery Sapphic Verse

PLANNING ADULTERY

Heard his footstep spring upon the stair and stop--
Heard his hand upon the cold brass knob ...and click--
Held her arms as open as her wandering heart could bear--
Heralded her fall...

Romance Light Thoughts Acrostic

ROMANCE

Rarely do I find a fragrant love note at my door
Often when I read of love I want to try once more
Maybe golden dalliance is lurking round the bend
Always I am hunting for a lover and a friend
No one should be lonely-- that is what I’m told
Carelessly we treat the kind & hanker for the bold--
Excitement may be nice but I want hugging when I’m cold

Lovers Caught In the Modern World

LOVERS CAUGHT IN THE MODERN WORLD

Culture keeps us safe
Until it fades
Family keeps us warm
When we need shade—
Techno worlds are brash
And spit out
          Texting love--

word loss
makes hearts clash
Gives lives a shove
spring roses turn to ash

Leaves lovers wondering
Is this life complete--
Leaves dreamers listless--
stills lovely dancing feet

Blaze the path
wayward lover
Create new words
      delicate
something each fragile lip can say

Lovers toss skin
Naked standing
    shedding
Naked
 Blood to bone
And, amidst the fog
Stand Dazed, Perplexed--
Lose their will to roam
Fearfully Refuse to
Leave the safety of
Their natural home.

Blaze the path
wayward lover
create new words
     delicate
something my fragile lips can say

Love Thoughts At Dusk

LOVE THOUGHTS AT DUSK

                                         Bathing in twilight
                                    recollections grab my sky--
                                          indigo captive
