Dentist OverTalks

dentist has a plethora of sedation devices and techniques
Or so she thinks, not realizing I am a dental PTSD survivor.
I am in a twilight state, until I hear and smell the DD – dreaded drill.
I refuse to go lightly, because I have been hurt by many dentists.
This dentist spends two or three days in my cake cave.
I begin choking, spitting and gagging the second I hear him say,
“I am putting this bone from a cadaver into your mouth.”
A dead person’s bone? What? I am trying to wake up but can’t.
Then he adds this gem “Probably the bone from a pig.”
Also not a great choice of words.

DD Sheehan

Brought workers closer to heaven

For Home Rule, he tried
To give the poor Irish their governance
Despite a role in the Great War
He found that the Crown had defied

Off to South England he went
To re-assess his fate
A forerunner to Attlee he served
Worthwhile to emigrate?

I don't hold any of any finger

They were happy when i was confused and wondered why they smiled.
So was crying because of unshure

But I have grown with memories that have faded like fog in winter when my dad showed DD A stand for his Acceptance of my life.

Hummingbird

I am a wonder of the skies
with wings of speed, I gently land;
in blossoms sweet, I find my prize.

In each new bud, lies my surprise
of vital sustenance as planned-
a splendid feast before my eyes.

Dear sweetest nectar, you disguise
my joys of life in colors grand-
of every shape and flower size.

I share my feast with butterflies
who also have a great command
of sipping buds to energize.

Although so tiny, I'm complete-
with nature's gift- my nectar treat!

Washed Out To Sea

Washed out to Sea
By Dilly Dally and Christopher Grieves
First line DD, second line CG and so on

Save my soul, I'm washed out to sea
I need the lights of a harbour to beckon me
Gasping for breath, in a bedraggled state
As the wild wind decides my ultimate fate
Swallowed up by the dark but emerge by the shore
A stranger to land and with sea-legs no more
Conflicted and confused by my second chance
Do I pray, do I sing, do I walk, do I dance?
I had thought that the sea would carry me home
Yet I stand with new landscape; fresh pastures to roam
The life I could live now plainly in view
New path lined with hope for my heart to pursue

Awakening

another form, another rhyme
to tease my foggy brain awake
initially, gives me a time
but not so bad, when given time

a forming thought can shape a smile
as, like a morning, sudden dawns
both forward drawn and all the while
still pondering each line awhile

a symphony not yet in sight
a song begins with but one note
a solitary ray of light
but soon is joined to its delight

to play with words is to amuse
awakening the inner muse

 I might change  “in longa” to maestra  in the future for  a teacher who is always tired, lol.
