Cuckolded Poems | Examples

The Tares

Envy them not
Though their laughter makes you sad:

In live derision, they mock your Life—
A dead, grim grin shall taunt that still.
Your morbid tears are seen by Life
and for the joys that you knew not
your jeers shall be to laugh at death
when other’s smiles rot.

Life does chastise—to make wise—whom He loves
and makes them chaste in carnal joys awhile.
But Death, once enamored, lies
about a bed of roses, flowers ...
wreaths.

Time flies---and cries of pain are uttered now when they conceive—
bringing forth their fruit to Him who rejects them (O double rejection!)—
that they have been deceived.

Virgin fools. Cuckolded. Unwise.
Eternally marred by pretty guise.

Let them laugh.
They may mourn when we are glad.

When entering negotiations with a criminal mastermind
Who just happens to be a dictator, cruel and unkind
of a country with a long record of opposing freedom
and crushing opponents to death by choosing to bleed 'em

It behooves one to be ready, prepared to the hilt
To counter the fabrications of truth that are built
into the warp and the woof of his opponent's distortions
by which he evades capture through myriad contortions

Would you venture a guess that I'm talking 'bout Putin
Against whom the whole civilized world is rootin'
for seizing Georgia, Crimea and parts of Ukraine
(along with a nice chunk of three U.S. Presidents' brains)

I'll bet the farm and the farmhouse that Mr. Trump sees no peril
~ That in Helsinki, Putin left him cuckolded and sterile

Limerick : Once a Toro loved by a Matador

Once a Toro* loved by a Matador*
Maimed between shoulders by Picador*
Matador garrocha*
Picador muchacha*
Picador cornudo* Matador.

*Toro : bull raised for fighting in arenas (rings)
*Matador : « matador de toros », bullfighter ; usually
the head « torero », title obtained after the
« alternativa », ceremony honoring the torero
or « novillero », the apprentice bullfighter
*Picador : the well-protected assistant to the matador
on horseback who wounds the toro between
the shoulders in order to cause the bull to hang
                 its head
*garrocha/garrochar : (to use) the long lance with a metallic
harpoon-like head , wielded by the Picador
*muchacha : Spanish for girl or « daughter » as in this case
*cornudo : cuckolded (husband gored)

Cleveland

Once a man of steel,
cuckolded by foreigners,
made to bear a rusty belt
And belch hapless smoke in shame.

Once a spiderweb of commerce-
now a conglomerate of strangers,
united by dementia-ridden streets
frayed and cracked by Erie’s buffets-
but the breakwall soldiers still hold the line.

As do the masses, when they can stand
the agony of Sundays as crying sots,
drenching the gutters in saltwater
beers, burying the despair behind
frozen, grim, angry brows.

On they fight, under the evergaze
of endlessly winking red guardians
who still believe, as the men below,
that Cleveland still rocks, on and on.
