Love and Sun

Love is like a sun
Exciting on its first rise
Sunrise is dazzling, energizing
Warmth felt
As day gets longer
Its warmth cozies
Then it intensifies at noon
Overwhelming hotness
Too much to bear
Burning, hurting and tiring

Needs to keep away from it
Needs sunblock, shield, shelter
To get away from excruciating pain
Next thing you'll see
Its appearance changed as it's setting
Sun set is attractive and bold
So beautiful in your sight
Enticing, bewitching
But dusk will turn to night
And it vanished, a goodbye.

Darkness, numbness, helpless
Can't have the same anymore
Eyes closed, will rest
until a new day will come
New beginning, new hope
that we will see another sun
will gently shine , hopefully
with constant warmth only
cherished moment, no pain will be felt
The only wish, oh Genie.

Premium Member Tea Time All The Time

I come from a long line of tea drinkers
just plain orange pekoe tea
we went through many tea pots
have you ever seen tea cozies
they were meant to keep the pot warm
my mom was very particular about the spout
she said it had to be exactly the right shape
to avoid dripping when pouring
we had tea, morning, midmorning, lunch,
afternoon, supper, after supper, at bedtime
we had tea anytime ...

I love my tea very hot
making sure I have to very first cup
we put milk in ours
never honey or plain
there is something so homey about tea time
oh, I recall those days past
of storytelling while drinking tea
grandma would say when things went wrong
come, I'll make you a nice cup of tea
she seemed to think tea would cure all our woes
and I think they did
or was it the conversation

yes, I have my favorite cup
not dainty but not too big and not quite mug
my cat likes tea also
she kept drinking mine
so I make her one (I think its the milk)
she has her very own cup now
I love sitting by the fireplace with my tea
just relaxing on a cold winter night
what could be more delightful

Premium Member Words Not Invented Yet

She likes her feline side; it cozies up to warm books.
But pirate woman is not far behind, slashing and swashbuckling.
Her mood does not last a week, a day, or an hour.
She is mercurial, flexible, a chameleon.

Living striped, polka dotted and in paisley.
Reveling in silk, linen, and persnickety idealism.
Her yin and yang complement each other
Appearing with their own whims and whistles.

She is woman, she is girl, she is crone, she is empathy, she is hope.
She is a nurturer and a killer. She can destroy and rebuild.
Books cannot capture her emotional power, for the words are not invented yet.
For each she is extraordinarily herself, living as a bear, a bird or a bug.

A Lazy Day

The sun beats down on this hot Sunday,
So under cover, I think we will stay.
Our dogs on the tiles are dozing,
We too, are relaxing, eyes closing.
Too hot for flies, to dry for mozzies,
A dip in the pool for us in our cozies.
A cool breeze blows, if in the right place,
At the pool side it catches your face.
A glass of iced tea on the table in shade,
Or a few nibbles and iced lemonade.
A very genteel way to spend the day,
Someone else cooks dinner for us today.
So we relax, and maybe yawn once or twice,
A great way to while away the day. Very nice.
