A triumph of artistic erudition,
a monumental, historic production,
played to houses hushed and full -
Aesop's Fables with real animals -
glorious choreographed interaction,
among creatures of all extractions,
audiences transfixed and beguiled
by kings and queens of the stage, self-styled,
discussed in every chic salon,
until, an unfortunate contretemps,
there was no hint of trouble or indication,
when a bit a player forgot his station,
and when the director fiercely drew a bead,
the resultant kerfuffluous stampede
was reported, sadly in Le Monde,
and the curtain dropped on the show across the pond.

Premium MemberGentle and Loving Heart

Gentle and loving heart is all.

It tames the stormy days’ wildness toll,
Subsiding the seemingly incomprehensible
Unfairness of the wild world numb contretemps.

Yet

It flames the homely wee joy,
Intensifying the nitty-gritty fathomably
Gift of everyday serendipity godsend--
And only when
the gentle and loving hearts (under)stand.

We All Are Slaves In Time's Ship

we all are slaves in time's ship
held hostage to a promise of eternity
as the sails fill, oars are manned
we journey into life
facing contretemps in some moments
while lucky stars at times command the bow
we sail away
and the stratagem is to open the eyes
let the future reign
give yourself happiness
in every possible moment
yesterday is a lesson
that we champion in the day
where hope comes with expectations
in every tomorrow

The Way Home

“The Way Home”

I close my eyes, and
dream in reverse of
The Great Contretemps

The feared no-go zone
a minor drop in the ocean
too swift a journey
now we walk together,

HOME

to the warm shores
of

LOVE
I walk calmly at peace, there,

... there, you step in time beside me,

steadily, strength garnered from
mistakes’ failures
a final great

VICTORY

Never Let True Love Die

L-et not true love die,
I-n spite of the shake;
Z-one of wrangle and bicker
A-ims for the chain to break.

F-ight the falling-out,
A-s well as the argle-bargle;
L-et the contretemps fade,
L-et not the union wiggle.
O-n the twenty-sixth of May,
R-ed beacon rises up high;
I-ntensify the harmony,
N-ever let true love die.

The Contretemps

Around the lounge a drowsy brown hound was routing, and found a rowdy lout shouting aloud and flouting a crowd of stout, proud men who frowned at his pounds tumbling down the ground and they clouted and ousted him out and out without any doubt about that money amounted to thousand pounds.

Drown

Drown.

It happens a pace imperceptible,
It is lost only at the moment it was perceived the
The aqua alta

Carved out an embayment in my heart
No rivers made room for the sea,
Tidal floods by the tumbling silver moonlight, sweeps in the silky waters as an insidious creeping, pending doom inexorably sweeps over,

The rise is slow, the water is murky,
Oh to be like a Venetian! Slough off the inconvenience of death,

Shall I look to the past as contretemps?
Shall I rearrange fate with a retrospective perspective?
Shall I reinterpret your fait accompli?

And the portent is grim—eustasy is is certain
And the weight of the life giving substance— extinguishes life.

Angry acts begin.
Harmful words would never flare,
Count to ten then once again.

Wildfire spreading fast,
With mistaken, muddled acts.
Smokey aftertaste will last.

Then finessed assaults,
Vainly exit, pride intact,
Casting blame, the other's fault.

Friendships fall head-long,
Disarrayed in stumbled steps.
Puzzled reasons blurred then gone.

A baronial zing of blue jacket
Blithesome attitude,
Allures me to join navy,
A credence to serve countrymen,

When territories enter a ballicose
Only to belittle through broach,
Or to lull enemy by celerity
Not by swindling but by courage,

Howsoever contentious is the situation
To prevent from contretemps,
Think better of,
Think much of ,
Think through !!

Beloved Cindy

Beloved Cindy

Beloved Cindy died today,
With her, she took my heart away.
For forty years, we were “we,”
Now, “we” is only me.

She's had health problems, as many knew,
But now her suffering is through.
I never thought that this would end,
Today, I lost my dearest friend.

After decades, we had ESP,
I knew her, and she knew me.
I'm looking forward to the time,
That we're reunited, so sublime.

I should have made her a perfect life,
Free of stress, lacking strife.
Alas, it was not to be,
After all, she married me.

Our quarrels were small, we never fought,
Contretemps were almost naught.
To be mad at her was just absurd,
She was like an injured bird.

She thanked me often for my art,
Of which she said she felt a part.
Of each drawing, she would say,
We were really on our way.

Now I sit here, thinking of
My past life, and Love
She is watching, that I know
To meet again, once I go!
