I feel the spirit of humanity
within the collective beat of Man's heart.
Theologically, Man's soul is an
intangible eternal counterpart.
I sense Man's struggle to be civilized,
but the animal within can't be tamed.
Evil is a corruptive influence
that schemes for control but is never named.
I fear the shared brutality of Man
and the pain He is willing to inflict.
Despite Man's construct of God, He believes
it's His right to contritely contradict.
I see humanity outside the box,
where spirituality is achieved.
The potential for Faith's accomplishments
is more than Man initially believed.

A-ha-ha-ha!!! Laugh out loud, don’t hide your glee...
Relax; regret not… despite feeling gray
Take time to pray; never* lose faith in God
Neither fight Sovereign will --- nor defy Providence-guidance
Optimize blessings: share against selfishness’ greed
Can't! shouldn't keep you away from doing good.
*Psalm 71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

By the skin of my teeth
Surviving by wit
Heart on my sleeve
But shirts never fit
Lucky I’m funny
Or it would be a true shame
I haven’t got money
I’ve never had “game”
I won’t be on time
To save my life
A dose of cheap wine
I’ll call it a night
I hate making plans
Too much commitment
I might rather dance
Or do something different
But I don’t like to fly
By the seat of my pants
I contradict I
Every given chance

Fingers of ice
body on fire
the facade of the heartless
the yearning of the passionate
A leap of faith
a cry of pain
falling hard
cutting my palm
Eyes seeing past
those walking by
my heart wishing
he was mine
Both from across the world
neither liking the other
as if they knew
one day I'd pick
between the two
I just don't know
how I can
let one go

Across land
across sea,
my heart seems to be.
Ignoring lies
ignoring truth,
thoughts turn to you.
Racing time
racing heart,
hoping to be a part.
Lights on
lights off,
thinking of you, not enough.
Heart open
heart closed,
him I want the most.
