Conjunctive Poems | Examples

Brighton In September

You traced
A heart in the water
Of a rock pool

In the morning
As we still glowed
From the loving

As milk floats raced
Along the seafront and
Seagulls raided the bins

But later...

Time fell into the tide
And when we talked
It became heavily conjunctive

And we lost it all
Suddener
As we could ever have imagined

Because you never
Knew the difference
Between you
And what you said.

Heart Streams Intersect Then Diverge

Sum of two, percolating hearts
Two forks merge, Love's current to kickstart
Love's seminal streams nutrients cart
Naively, through winding conduits dart
Each mind's eye the vital signs chart
Through coronary arteries; blithe goals, hopes jump-start
Strains increase blood pressure, tearing conjunctive cells apart
Gritty plaque dams; communication channels thwart
From heart's door, through silted veins, corroding dreams depart
Alter egos swell; each inflammatory argument a counterpart
A professional, therapeutic stent does bypass lane impart
Until acute thrombosis does stagnant minds compart
Divergent heart streams dissected on Love's flowchart

He woke with hope and love for the new day

And darkness met him and betrayed

The hope vanished but brought cleansing

And like the soldier onto knee bending

If You are there help me like a bottle of wine

A slight burn and You grow and deny

It was only one time and her heart lies

Spelled it out and written by

He was there between each adjective

That holy love linked each conjunctive

If You came with your advice

Her love cost more and price

In front of the screen he touched the keys

Writing the note with hope relieves

But she has deleted his record and moved over

In a seedy hotel they meet and my love choked her

You told me once You told me twice

My love was cooked with bitter spice

I Don'T, But...

It is simply shocking how a teeny
conjunctive word, a tiny little "but"
becomes precursor for the agony
of some. I will explain exactly what
I mean. Example: Have you ever had
a conversation like the following?
The person talking saying, "having this to add
I'm not intending hurting your feelings
but...then proceeds to do precisely what
he said he wouldn't do. Explanation?
It's ignorance! Instead of keeping shut
his haughty mouth, ending conversation.
Continues hurting monologue uncut
until your forced to say, you kiss my butt!

The Triad

Should sin imagined need that we atone
For angles lying equilaterally prone?
Conjunctive on an even parity
Of head and toed triangularity.

Passion shaped by she and he and she,
Yet friendship, understanding holds the key;
Pyramidal the power of the prism,
A dark side of the moon eroticism.

And though the devil days need exorcism,
Night in liquid silk somnambulism
Moulds the flesh and satiates the brain,
Three sides to every story they remain.

Arise convention's bones and drab disdain
At value judged contaminants again;
The Triad burning love when night must fall,
Embraces all for one and one for all.

Between the Lines

the darkness crowds the pit the void the connective tissue so
tenebrous so fluid the glimpses the moments of eternity
focusing on the center everywhere the circumference is nowhere
there is no relative space or conjunctive time the hallway
the staircase circles spirals infinite rotations the wheel
and WHOA! prepare for the worst crying laughing
learning dying reacting subtracting the fluid the membrane
so tenebrous so fluid the glimpses the moments of eternity
inside the circumference we're all the center the influx the pit the void
