A bluebird came streaking violently out of Central Park,
it blurred over the lanes of traffic towards 220.
I flinched in anticipation of the impact,
but at the last second it darted directly up,
as if caught in a sudden wind current.
“Did you see that?” I asked Lisa.
She didn’t, her phone was jiggling.

My boyfriend left yesterday
He had to leave before New Year’s eve!
he has to work and cannot play
he finally gets to run the hadron collider
go get em’ tiger
but I’ve decided
you can’t fight the zeitgeist
that when the cats away
the girls will have their day.

Someone start the music please,
because it’s NEW YEARS Eve!

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!

Premium MemberFissures and Collisions

earthquakes and fissures
routinely affect politics and relationships
as they act on the earth's crust
tectonic plates clash in subduction zones
they separate at divergent boundaries

a quake strikes
will I engage or detach?
wisdom will prevail
I will not be smashed or fall between the cracks

Collisions

In voids, wild, stripping away the firmament
of heaven and tearing open the tethers of time.

Watching the empyrean burn stars as they collapse
n collide dark, matter black holes drag reality
to unknown realms and realities.

When stars collide from the point of the birth
till the point of demise, eternally rippling
into nothing, a flash of light, an explosion of matter…

Planets collide in hot gases that swirl
around neutron stars, burn away
all that matters in…

Voids, where stars collide!

Snow Collisions and Other Religions

The snow comes on the rumblings of mistakes
As alien nature not named but numbing all the same
Comes crashing, colliding by accident in atmospheres
In fear, chrystals of silence remind us of the loudness

How unkind ice can be accompanied by snow
Once released to tumble down to mimic giants falling
Blinded by colors not of their making
Time stops but not before the storm unfolds
Takes its toll on the unexpected visitors
Drifting by they pound the ground in homage to refrigeration

Rocks stand their ground for a second and by chance
Turn into sand if aging is permitted in their presence
Snow can be dangerous even at a distance if not respected
Ten foot trees below the timberline are frozen solid
In solace they take their weight for granite in repose

Granted, their seismic temblors can cause earthquakes
When landing on the heart is no mistake
Branches pray in their bankruptcy to winter mysteries
At what cost if they should lose their souls to snow
If this were any other planet other than Earth
Each snowflake would be lost to the significance
Of being worth its weight in gold

Collisions

An happy goat grins in green
Such rare species that smiles
A bloody heart entangled in codes
Freedom is my plea
In sights, i've seen
Earth gains inches in progression
In gazes, i've shied
Guilty miser - self-tagged
The bible of a race
My mind is hell-bent on relaying
In her Iris, last noon
The norms acclimatizing
In her pupil, last night
Blinking tilts, shutters her thoughts
And doubled my sighs
Before her cornea, I stood
My amplitude seeming infinite again
In that split second
I'd read the dailies
The headline glaringly read
'Injured by Addiction'
Followed by massive audible texts
Jamming the frequency of my mind
My beats doubled, I feared bloodshed
But it was just a thoroughfare
With links tabooed by culture
