A POET'S LAMENT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Under the night's blank canvas,
I sit, a lone figure,
my ink-stained fingers poised.
I carry the burden of unsaid poetry,
ideas that were never expressed,
and metaphors that disappeared like echoes.
I linger upon the rhymes that unraveled
like threads pulled from an old sweater,
frayed and forgotten, lost in the seams of time.
I am lost in the fabric of language
unable to stitch together
an ensemble of cohesive words.
In dawn’s quiet hours, I wait for inspiration,
for the first light to break, to spill over
into the edges of my thoughts.
I sit, a solitary figure
my weary mind suspended
beneath the empty canvas of daylight.
Losing control…..
You read all my personal emails
You listen to my calls.
Tracking where I go with your phone
Secret cameras on the walls.
You ask me who I have talked too
and exactly where I have been.
You blame me for the arguments
And say I am being mean.
You say that I need you and get me to agree
I am sorry I am hurting you and you need to punish me.
You have made me a nervous wreck
And I am living a hole
How did I not realise this thing you do
Is Call cohesive abusing control
Frequently left with no logic
when wet with amorous magick;
Dragonflies and rolling boulders,
cohesive thought left in embers;
A soft touch in heavy silence
leads to an act of defiance;
Locked up with metallic handcuffs
you won’t hear me utter rebuffs;
To follow the heartbeat in me?
They may say it’s a bit crazy;
Arrested ‘cause I won’t comply,
I’ll plead the fifth with no reply;
In love we’re outlaws of reason,
flames burn into acts of treason.
I’ve got a million words floating around my head
Used to construct rhyming sentences.
Cohesive thought is the author’s thread
For sewing poems of past remembrances.
Some make sense; some are absurd;
One or two might actually be good.
But mostly, they are just the word
Of a man often misunderstood.
I once sought fame or notoriety
After hanging titles on my creations;
After sharing hundreds with polite society,
I never experienced any such sensations.
I am destined to die leaving a legacy somehow
Of poems that have never been read;
They can’t haunt me then as they haunt me now
After I am peacefully dead.
These words that pour out from thoughts.
Randomly without making patterns, at first.
OK. Sometimes making random patterns.
Spurting out and mixing like
Ingredients for a batter.
Swirls like nothing else.
Until cohesive in my mind.
Maybe not in yours.
Meaning in my world.
Sometimes in yours.
Meaning that sometimes escapes me
Until a future epiphany crystallizes.
Orange grapes floating in a sea of waves.
Meaning and importance that can be suspect.
See what I mean?
They all end up on this screen.
My heart and I speak every day
We walk and talk alone
I ask it for new poetry
New rhymes that are homegrown
It gives me little snippets
That then become fullblown
Thoughts, reflections, hopes and dreams
Of you in me are sewn
I do admit I worry
What if the well runs dry?
But once I get into the zone
The verses start to fly
So effortless to write of
There's a breadth and depth to you
To cause the troubadour in me
To come up with something new
Daily, sometimes two or three
I've had some days like that
Where they just seem to write themselves
Cohesive in format
Bouquets that bloom in morning
From a nursery of new seed
They germinate so quickly
All fertilized by my need
To tell you what you mean to me
I want for you to know
How much I think the world of you
And how you make me glow
Sailboats horses and carts and canal transport
Whale oil lighting and candles, salt to preserve
Meat, limited sanitation and available running
Water, all are part of a formerly more static society '
Which kept people in their national boundries.'
The emphasis seems to be on returning the
World to a typology of the above.? This being
Part of ( green agendas ) wordwide.?
Why then? Facilitate mass movements of
Humanity across borders.? If its more
Desirable for a worldwude static existence?
That will be inherent in any return to above
Practices.'
Is it just ideas.? That some people have cooked
Up after obtaining a doctorate, or other credentials
To get a million plus payment from a slush fund.?
With no real plan on how to live this out.?
I am myself quite prepared to live with limited
Technology..Yet it involves more effort, which
Would keep humans fitter.' A balance can be struck
But I dont see any cohesive drive.? I see ( a i ) and
A move to even more tech, and so called outsourcing
More desire for matterial things more waste much less
Recycling than from the 1920s to the 1980s am I
Alone in these observations? I welcome any comments.'
The brain-washed also washed.
‘Settled science’ led him forward confidently
into a simulated life.
It was while listening to the talking heads,
pundits, and cognoscenti
that he was struck by a miniscule,
yet consequential doubt.
Dismayed, he sensed
the props of his borrowed knowledge
begin to shred and peel away.
Eventually, his entire belief system
faltered,
friends hearing of this heresy
deserted him.
He wandered into a forest
where every tree was different
in its own peculiar way,
Both order and chaos
seemed to be
but one cohesive happening.
Legend has it
he deliberately lost his way
in order to find out
what had been overlooked by so many.
He is still looking.
1.The dogma of atheist does not contain any stance
(positive nor negative)about any form of incest.
about pig eating,about swine soup,about fried frogs,
about consensual gaang baang etcetera.
2.Moreover,most atheists do not customarily condemn
the very practices that religion condemns,
for example,idolatry,adultery,and homosexuality.
3.Atheists do not constitute a cohesive or powerful group.
4.They argued that as long as sex is between two consenting
adults,then it should be permitted.
5.It is an act that is morally or naturally wrong and it should
be punished by law.
My soul is encaged within ribbed walls
Bound by body as if shackled and tethered.
What would it wish if one could be granted?
To be freed from my mind, from my body depart?
No, that's not what I believe with all my heart.
Does it feel the intensity of my physical pain,
or wounds that left scars on my broken heart?
It is my belief that the soul, mind and body
are integrated as one, signifying a human life,
the coexistence of an individual's conscious being.
If it's my soul's only wish to save itself from death,
it must save my body as well.
It's a platonic relationship of relying on each other,
for as long as my body breathes, so will my soul.
It aspires for a cohesive convergence with my mind,
body, and heart, for one is dependent on the others.
When my body dies, so does the existence of my soul.
Staying alive is its desire and the hope it transpires.
Most of the places judged Exclusive
A keen observer impress as Elusive,
Doors firmly closed to The Intrusive,
Their sweet airy windows inclusive...
From these I'd try statements conclusive:
Fate not changed by one being intrusive
And, clearly,not by being submissive
In relation to the Exclusive
Kept by a body damned cohesive
With dumb hatred for The Permissive...
The whole thing,here on earth,instructive:
Look more inwardly: be constructive
Or soon thou shalt be The Promiscuous
For just wanting to be conspicuous.
There is a squat/stout duffer in a windbreaker and a Mets cap on the outskirts of the park
playing a rickety 5 string and hoot'in and holler'in.
I have no idea what he is singing.
There is no discernible melody.
Every now and then he stops/ freezes/ puts his forefinger in the air
to take some sort of measure
before plunging back into his flailing guitar.
After another stuttering burst he will stop/
then let loose with an elongated cry to the sky/
punk operatic/ style
nobody seems to stop/and listen/he does not have a container for contributions and probably would not get much trade/
he is playing/for his own/self/and that is / enough
It's/utterly senseless/ wholly out of key.
Beyond the realm of anything/
resembling cohesive musicality
/rambunctiously obtuse
yet imbued with an innocence that casts proficient excellence into a pallid light.
His songs/ performance/ like life/ a messy and inconclusive/ thing/
You can have/ your polished practice and Carnegie aspirations/
and make of that an evening/ with class
this ragged chanteur/
airs it out/ no class/ no talent/ but lotsa / style
We move with wheels that whip and whir
a human hive, spinning with a purpose
cohesive and connected, in one accord.
By the sweat of the brow, legs churning
we flow with the wind, with beating hearts
racing along roadways and up steep hills.
Now we are cascading downwards
with great abandon, locked in, hooked
hooked on the ride and to each other…
…as we race towards the setting sun.
