The V12 purred as the fireboat ran
easy outpaced the coastguard man
      this time;
   last time, bullets blazed
    so what;
the price was raised
waiting on the rum line for a good tide
      duty-free; it goes stateside.
They can’t catch us
          we’re fast and sleek
who’s gonna bother at
      30 bucks a week?
seven hundred k I made this year
1920, and running is the gear!

The Coastguard

Above the choppy,
viewed from
behind the glassy
winded and floppy.
He observes the flossy
dark black rolling
white and frothy.
Salt filtered manes blown
acrossy limpits rocky
trapping olde anchors rusty
amongst filleted fishy

Lost In Paradise

You speak ambiguous as if a metaphor with a double meaning,
creating sights and sounds closely matching yet differently.
As if a the sun were in your smile or a fire burning in your soul,
our love is a match that has been struck upon the flint of our hearts.

With eyes reaching deeply into my core as if passing through,
the earth mantel with hot lava flowing and building into a volcanic explosion.
This timeless clock makes our life spin by as our earths are turning,
creating a violent storm with ocean waves feeling your yearning.

You have cast a reel connect to a spell, bated it with love and hooked me,
placing your sails upon me, guiding me with a rudder, steering me with love.
I was overboard and you threw me your lifesaving circle around me,
landing on our tropical paradise as you guide me with your tender love.

As the coastguard fly’s over our signal fire is seen loud and clear,
everyone will know you have saved me from this life of loneliness.
Giving me strength to go on no longer lost with emptiness or forgone
Completing this circle of life and meeting in the middle then connecting

Our hearts and souls

No Heart

1/28/19
"No Heart"
Studied a flowchart
Then opened a letter with postmarks
Is a slow start
Better than having no part?
Everybody thinks they're so smart
A divided world continuing to grow apart
Listening to music by Mozart
While making my very own art
My soul dark
Cold and sharp
Even when I'm an old fart
Take you out with a blow dart
And speed off in a go-kart
Don't start
What you can't finish, if you got no heart
You most likely will not go far
Just like time has shown so far
Left the boatyard
Then saw the coastguard
While I was using sonar
And holding a crowbar
I will deal you the most harm
If your responsible for letting folks starve
I'll make you sink quick, won't let you float far

Sailing To America

Leaving the dock, sounding the bells
Captain at stern, strong water swells
Winds give rise, full ahead call
Clear blue sky, no noted squall.

Boston harbor hosting, ships are notable
Schooners to Barque, old and admirable,
Sailing from Europe, Canada and England
Powered by winds, tugboats on hand.

Under the sky, across the sea
Tall ships sail, first view majesty
White masts rise, dressed to parade
Crewmen now salute, flags proudly displayed.

Ropes are taut, winds pass by
Ships now turning, sailors climbing high
Spacious seas accommodate, ships sail proud
Nearer to port, cheers come loud.

Crow’s nest manned, smooth sailing ahead
Through the channel, U.S. Coastguard led,
Viewers on banks, small boats inland
All ships accountable, well in hand.

Quite an honor, sailing high seas
Hands on deck, standing at ease,
Coming into port, Bunker Hill insight
Best of all, tall ships delight.

Gone Fishing Part Two

They slowed the boat so they could hear,
if any other craft came near,
when suddenly out of the gloom,
appeared the harbinger of their doom.

A ship so huge they could not steer,
beyond the bow so high and sheer,
as it bore down on them at a hellish rate,
and sliced their boat, and sealed their fate.

The great ship passed on as no one knew
that they'd just killed the small boat's crew,
and back on shore it was not yet known
that both of the friends would never come home.

By eight that night they began to worry,
and to the launching slip they did hurry.
They called the coastguard, and he,
called on all shipping in the vicinity.

After hours of searching from lifeboat, and sky,
and many other vessels that were passing by.
Nothing was found, out in the mist,
it seemed the men did not exist.

And this of course, was totally true
the men had sunk down into the deep blue,
they were lost at sea without a trace,
departed from the human race.

A Weighty Problem

The little thrill as the wave’s ripple in
Making the hairs stand up, on the surface of my skin.
The kiss of the sun with its warm breath so light
As it soothes my skin with warmth and delight.
The sand rolls around where my hands touch it soft.
The water rolls back and forth carrying pebbles aloft.
Setting shells down with rolling grains of sand
Making minute rivers run from the fingers of my hand.
The blue of the sky so pale and so pretty
On the horizon I can see the outline of the city.
Birds bob on by walking in the sand,
Not caring that I’m there lying on their land.
Curiously watching me, little eyes darting here and there
Watching for what, I don’t know or care.
A tiny emerald green beetle scuttles on past
Taking no notice of me, but from the birds, rushes on fast.
The sun is setting; it’s time to go back
The tide has come in but it needs to get back
The coastguard come out and asks so polite
Please can you move, the tide needs to leave tonight.
You have laid there so long, blocking the way
Can you please go back - so the water can flow away?
The ships need to sail and the trawlers come in
But you are blocking the way as you are not that thin.
