An excited happy clowder of cats and a kindle of kittens
Were tearing up yarn I used to think I needed for mittens
I watched them and laughed, for they were a delight
Their rolling and tumbling was a really sweet sight
With a poem and a song in my heart and my mind
saw my calico and fur ball take yarn they could quickly unwind
put out all the scraps, for it was Christmas time after all
I had not had this much fun since the last time they slid in the hall
The beautiful evening sky had but little to say about us
As I gathered my cuddle babies, with nary a fuss.
We laid on the couch and watched the kittens have fun.
They had a spectacular Christmas, and I mean everyone.
Some people do not realize that my cats are my children now.
They treat me better than my own children ever knew how.
I love my clowder of cats and my kindle of kittens.
I can buy other yarn to make my grandchildren mittens.

chirping away before dawn~

A thief in search of clam chowder
Instead encountered a clowder
A pussy is nice
When its chasing mice
So the thief just took a powder

I stumbled drunkenly through Stroud
Passed the kebab van on the hill,
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of ladettes – taunting the old bill;
Just for a lark, just for a wheeze,
Flirting and dancing, dressed to tease.
Bedecked with bling, drinking cheap wine,
A clowder of cats out to play,
Perfume and bags by Calvin Klein
All you can eat slapper buffet.
Looking for violence not romance,
Tossing the V’s in fighting stance.
The plods approached askance, as they
Ignored them and crouched down to pee;
The deluge nearly washed away,
The council’s prized floral display!
I gazed – amazed - at just how short;
Their skirts were and indeed how taut.
Often now – I sit down and cry
(Sometimes it puts me off my food)
When I recall what I did spy
The female form so crass and rude;
Those harpies in search of cheap thrills,
Stooped - pissing on the daffodils.
(apologies to Mr Wordsworth)

Put purring sounds around me, yes, I'm the apple of your eye.
Your furry form is always warm, your purr is a lull-a-bye
Arms and legs entwine us, so strong, Mime and brother Sy
around a dreamy place we lay and picture summertime.
Me and Mama [Molly] cuddle with our wee Tom cat
like balls we bounce and then pounce 'till Mama tells us scat!
The glaring's* full of mischief rivalry and combat,
Circle round see what we've found, it flies, why it's a gnat!
Round we go till dinner time, then back we go like that
The bosom warm, the cuddly form of our sweet Molly cat
Sun up, sun down, this is the life of Sy and Mime cat-lets.
*group of cats is referred to as a "clowder" or a "glaring",a male cat is called a "tom"
a female is called a "molly"...I named the girl Kitten Mime ;)
