Clowder of Cats and Kindle of Kittens
An excited happy clowder of cats and a kindle of kittens
Were tearing up yarn I used to think I needed for mittens
I watched them and laughed, for they were a delight
Their rolling and tumbling was a really sweet sight
With a poem and a song in my heart and my mind
saw my calico and fur ball take yarn they could quickly unwind
put out all the scraps, for it was Christmas time after all
I had not had this much fun since the last time they slid in the hall
The beautiful evening sky had but little to say about us
As I gathered my cuddle babies, with nary a fuss.
We laid on the couch and watched the kittens have fun.
They had a spectacular Christmas, and I mean everyone.
Some people do not realize that my cats are my children now.
They treat me better than my own children ever knew how.
I love my clowder of cats and my kindle of kittens.
I can buy other yarn to make my grandchildren mittens.
