SAM THE SQUIRREL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sam the Squirrel had a hunger profound
In a park, he was often found,
     With nuts in his cheeks so tight,
     He scurried with all his might,
But alas, his appetite had no bound.
One day, as he climbed up so high,
In a tree with a nut-laden sky,
     Saw bird feeder, what a sight!
     'Twas filled with a feast, a delight,
"This snacking's too good to pass by!"
With a cleverness that took them aback,
He pilfered birds’ seeds in munchy attack,
     Birds squawked and complained quite loud,
     Sam the Squirrel was quite proud,
His cunning had earned him smorgasbord snack.
Premium MemberBetty White graces a stamp
Betty White lived so long,
they had all kinds of names for her.
She managed to stay America's sweetheart
for a century by being kind and funny.
A heart of gold worn on her sleeve,
she could make everyone smile.
Her sweet face is now on a stamp
while the tributes continue coming.
Her curls sweet and eyes a'glitter but
it's her smile that charmed us all.
On one little stamp they could never list
all of her many accomplishments.
Betty earned the Guinness World Record
for longest TV career by a female entertainer.
Her wit was in full view on shows like
Match Game and Hollywood Squares.
Besides appearances on The Carol Burnett Show,
she starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.
Her cleverness never got out of style,
she even hosted Saturday Night Live.
They were planning her 100th birthday
when Betty passed away a few days short.
She didn't have one last party in her
so Betty left us quietly in the night.
Betty, you're an icon and will never be forgotten.
A Requisition For Solutions
Two scales must balance
for unfaulty and accurate evidence,
the relationship between God
and Humankind must stand;
where impetus winds originate,
there must be a justiciable cause
to sustain such a destructible impact
on those cunningly swerving from right.
Solutions need to be wisely thought out
before the next catastrophe occurs unexpectedly,
whoever makes a solemn promise for prosperity
must keep it or be called a person of deceit.
Who can hold a notorious liar in contempt:
when he smiles and puts on an appearance
different from that of morality, from whence
remorse will emerge for being impudent?
How credible is the trust of a charlatan
when he's in a drunken state and stutters
to convince himself he abstains from lies
and thinks his name is Bobby, not Brian?
A requisition for solutions spare us many pains
to avoid the pitfalls that entrap the naive one;
cleverness and awareness are never out of line,
they're needed to sharpen our senses for gains.
Premium MemberIn Search
Those gifted with wisdom and cleverness
Come share with me your empathy
In selling my troubles I need some success
Pay a little attention currency
Tell me where to find the spiritual world
I suppose it is hidden too well
And I have to investigate somewhere beyond
The experiences one can tell
It was never my strong point, the keys to unknown
The secret knowledge, all this sort of thing
I’ve a vague suspicion that we never know
Why the winds had to change in the spring
Half-conscious, half out of mind all the time
I search how can we meet again
Come back, love, whatever the dress suits you fine
Hear my calls across time that was spent..
Through the alphabet
The leave determined to arrive
Valleys of doubt
Understanding needing seek
The desire to be meek
Echoing voices
The tongue expresses out
Statement after statement
Mistakes having corrections
Love with enduring affections
Until in everlasting
The Writing Feather’s friend
Throughout always at the end
The Feather with the hand glide.
Read That Twice
In vast realm between both false realities
efforts of a strained bowel movement collapse
like the arithmetic dreams of abacus beads.
Arthritic persistence contemplates procrastination
while stillborn attempts at cleverness
seem to flicker as defibrillator paddles exchange electrons.
You can’t revive what wasn’t alive.
Premium MemberCrafting a Masterpiece of Soul
Scored, stained, painted, washing, squeezing.
Profound fingers duly pleasing.
A perfect sign is not one’s goal.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
Basic colors, silver and gold,
Sprinkles that touch wet paint, behold.
Cathartic stressing’s console.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
A maverick or dependent.
Assured it will be resplendent.
To each his own creed of control.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
The group imparts a tenderness,
Rubbing elbows of cleverness;
And pondering time in fishbowl.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
All eyes on the “perfect” signage.
Does such have a great advantage?
Peculiar go down rabbit hole.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
Still, the simplicity of cream;
And chocolate Easter bunny’s dream,
Won’t be held in one’s cubby hole.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
Scored, stained, painted, washing, squeezing.
Profound fingers duly pleasing.
A perfect sign is not one’s goal.
Crafting a masterpiece of soul.
knife crime
Cut throat
Cut knife
Its double edged life
Blood drips
Life slips
Whispers gone away
Nothing to say
Young lives losts
Souls gone forever
All because people think there clever
Brainwashed into senselessness
Adding to there so called cleverness
Innocent angels
Dirty devils
The sense of all evil
Big or small
Should have no knives at all
Bring in a license to use
Up the age limit
Use a permit
Lets save lives
Don’t use knives
Premium Memberreading a delightful poem
Unexpected cleverness bursts out of a poem
Delighting me, inspiring me
It is rare that I laugh aloud as I read
Today I did
So, I read the poem a second time
Also rare for me.
Exquisite Darts
Cleverness in chaos.
Twisted mischief threads
beneath razor intellect.
Urban antiquity,
out of place,
sherry to eyelash to eye.
Her cigarettes go better
with beer wisdom and
starry sky humidity.
Grand Dame, ferocious girl.
Lead me up a garden path that
stings until 5am on barren streets.
Vampiric. Languid.
There is no elegant sufficiency,
no want contained.
Faded lilies.
Threadbare wisdom swings
to giggling gallows below, aloft.
One more drink?
Reckless friend, take my hand
and drag me sweetly away.
A Sweater For The Churchmouse
Knitting a tiny woolly sweater, for a sweet-tempered mouse
He sleeps on a blue letter, that arrived from grandmother’s house
Using scraps of yarn, that came from a pair of socks
Was keeping it to darn, but seems cold dwelling in a mailbox
Started offering him pieces of cheese, I no longer eat alone
Eventually I pour us both teas, by the garden that’s overgrown
Working with double pointed needles, carefully in the round
Looking out towards a mural, l see him on the church’s ground
I am excited to witness, that he has his own schedule
This mouse is full of cleverness, he returns with a spool of wool
I am slowly making progress, as the churchmouse grows a belly
We started to play chess, both just pushing pieces curiously
Casting on is thrilling, just as thrilling as casting off
Weaving frail ends are gruelling, but it will all soon payoff
He happily wore his new jumper, colours of autumn in stormy weather
So came an idea, thoughts of knitting a matching sweater
Seasons have come and gone, no need to wear thick wool
We’re having a picnic on the lawn, wearing a full matching ensemble
 "Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion." Jim Rohn
The question: Am I open-minded, closed-minded, or delusional?
Sometimes, we mortals desire to believe in the unbelievable.
Therefore, we must choose our teachers and mentors wisely.
Wisdom says to wait and investigate before it is too late.
He who approves before 'taking one to school' is unwise.
To affirm without heavy questioning is foolishness.
Regardless of whether our field of endeavor is religion,
politics, or business, we must avoid dictators and deceivers.
A person or world in depression has little room for discretion.
If I am delusional, I have been deceived.
If deceived, I have accepted a false belief.
I have been overpowered or misled by persuasion.
I have trusted something or someone who's not trustworthy.
I am then ripe for the pickings by anyone desirous of my fruit.
For so during, I have become a victim like an ant in a spider's web.
I lack the necessary discipline to examine and scrutinize what has been
placed before me. The cleverness of the deceiver is such that I have
willingly legitimized and given accent and access to the forbidden.
Premium MemberConfidence is her Armor
Her power and strength come from within
Her essence is carefully grounded
Spirit animals congregate to her side
Giving her dreams the extra touches she needs
Raccoon gives her cleverness
Fox gives her cunning
The white wolf shows her how to howl her truth
She is validated by her spirit animals
Confidence and self-assured poise is her armor
Her strength comes from her willingness to be herself
To follow her heart, and live her soul dream to its fullest capacity
Premium Memberart with a niece
paint on her fingers
glitter on her nose
five-year-old playing
kneading and claying
Auntie know her heart
they’re not long apart
joyful lovely day
oozing cares away
art is in their souls
happiness the goal
a creative flare
laughter in the air
they garner a smile
loving all the while
woes are put aside
ideas on full glide
new art has begun
atmosphere of fun
dazzlingly wise
adventure on rise
they build an art wall
show off in the hall
cleverness on display
everything done their way
