Premium Memberlife is a choice

every minute of my life is a choice
I can exercise, clean, eat, write, paint, cartoon or watch TV
Today I chose TV land
I could have snacked on lettuce, tomatoes, or carrots
I chowed down instead on donuts and candy bars
Water was readily available, but I chose soda pop

I had some cinnamon rolls too, with extra frosting
the longer I sit and eat sugar and carbs, the less energy I have
This does not concern me, I am old and tired.
I like naps
The TV is running, but I barely look at it
I use it like a radio, listening while I do other things

I am playing word games
because I love them and life is a choice
At this minute I am enjoying these choices
Tomorrow might be different,
But these are my choices on this lazy hundred degree day

My pet cat what's up with that
I see you reading a book
You look so aristocrat
And have a studious look
With your nose flat on the page
It's, like, you're coming of age

Yesteryear you chased your toys
You just a kitten around
Now you look so grown and poise
Your new horizons spellbound
From your new meow to now
You chowed words more than your chow

Forget the outside playground
And playing the alley slide
You booked words and went to town
On that magic carpet ride
From dawn to dusk you star gazed
The sparks in your eyes amazed

Let's teach you to surf the net
That's a whole new world out there
For you're my magical pet
With a few paw clicks, you'll flare
What's that grin stare on your face
Huh, you've been to that place

YOGURT

This food is addictive for me!
No, not the cheap junk!
Pure artificial malarkey!
Masquerading in false yogurt dress!
It screams "probiotics" on it's side,
The cartons with gaudy colors hide.
It's truly a phony!
Better eat a slice of baloney!

Oh, phony yogurt you!
Filled with sugars and additives,
Chowed down by obese Americans,
Fooled by the deceptive companies,
Hyping the Lo-Fat deception.
That they are eating so right, they wonder,
"Then, tell me why are my pants are so darn tighter?

Spring Break

Nothing more that Ben and Jerry enjoy
Than Florida on Spring Break
Hanging out there at this moment
On this bright and sunny day

Swimming in the ocean
Just off the Southern shore
Waiting for a nice plump student
To dip his toes in and more

Nodding in agreement
They both would like that very much
After all what would two Great Whites
Rather crunch for lunch

Conversation rolls around to Daytona
Reminiscing of the time
Ben chowed down on four collage kids
While Jerry gorged on Nine

Yes, Spring is in the water
Where both the sharks relate
Nothing better in Florida when
You can sink your teeth into Spring Break

Breakfast For Two

"Breakfast for two"

Callie the cat
climbed the cypress
curious for something to eat.

Benny the bird
perched on a branch
just a claw out of Callies reach.

Benny the bird
spied a round worm
snaking along the ground.

Few a-ground
went Benny the bird
and chowed the yummy thing down.

Now Benny the bird
sat licking his beak
enjoying his morning treat,

while Callie the cat
planned the attack
for too her morning treat;

Well Benny the bird
no longer around,
to see mornings a-new
For the squiggly round worm
that became a treat
was also breakfast for two...
