I
attempt
to sing a song
hubby covers his ears
says I sound like a cat in pain
so I’ll never attempt karaoke
though I was once head chorister
in a
choir!

Would You rather I be in church today
Or enjoying the enchantment of Your creation
Mesmerized, I inhale nature’s fragrance
Bible on my lap, open to Psalm 19:1
As the shy, golden Thrush
Emulates a chorister
Declaring the work of Your hands
His flutelike voice resonates
Bestowing music through the forest
Here I feel closer to You, Lord
Than I do within brick walls
Your majesty surrounds me
Accept my prayer of gratitude
For the splendor of Your gift
Life in every plant, every creature
I linger here for hours

Here lies a besotted chorister, too soon
Out of grog and out of tune.
A basso nicht-so profundo is ne'er forgot
Whether he die by clinker or by pot.

Some keep the Sabbath going to Church
I just keep staying at home
with thunder for a chorister
and an ochard for a dome
Some keep the Sabbath in Surplice
I just wear my wings
instead of tolling the bell for Church
our little Sexton sings
God preaches a noble Clergyman
and the serman is never long
So instead of getting to Heaven
at last, I'm going all along
NOTE: not my poem just a very inspirational and special poem to me.

Advent Service
Fresh-faced innocence
In light's pure radiance
Eyes aglowing
Wonder showing
In receipt of given light
Shines within the darkest night.
Christ has come into this world
Innocent child yet radiant light
Speechless I can only watch
Long to worship with a touch
Offer the child that lives in me
At this holy nativity

Advent Sunday is my favourite day in the Church Calendar- with all the anticipation of the
fulfillment of prophecy, as Christ the light comes into the world.
This poem is a "snap-shot": a young chorister having received her lighted candle turned to
light the one behind her; as she turned her pretty face is bathed in light

The Birds And The Bees
Honey tasters and givers
Immaculate creatures that natures delivered
Beautiful colours these gifted with wings
Insects so small, some with a sting
Ringed or hooped to their body shaped
Dancing on the breeze, hovering above buttercups
Singing and humming their chorister songs
Above and surround are these gems on the breeze
Nocturnal are some to our eyesight they please
Dawn till dusk they patrol through their trees
They have been here for many a year
Hopefully they'll stay and no longer fear
Ever hopeful that man in his decency will adhere
Buddies we can become and grow into tomorrow
Eternally natures beings who will no longer sorrow
Everlasting memories for generations to follow
Someday to new worlds on the spaceship Apollo
