Distant Thoughts

Would You rather I be in church today Or enjoying the enchantment of Your creation Mesmerized, I inhale nature’s fragrance Bible on my lap, open to Psalm 19:1 As the shy, golden Thrush Emulates a chorister Declaring the work of Your hands His flutelike voice resonates Bestowing music through the forest Here I feel closer to You, Lord Than I do within brick walls Your majesty surrounds me Accept my prayer of gratitude For the splendor of Your gift Life in every plant, every creature I linger here for hours

Lovely poem, reflecting the thoughts of a young girl who is lost in her own thoughts as she sits for a portrait! Great write! Congratulations on another well-deserved win!

This is gorgeous, Carolyn. I am amazed how we can all look at the same picture and all come up with a completly different vision. I wrote this one too, but too late to enter in the contest. I love the picture, it was such an inspiration bfn Elaine
