Wood-chopping Sonnet

Grab up some pine I cut up last weekend,
back creaks as I put it up on the block,

sinks deep in the wood with a meaty THWOCK.
Logs splinter off, tumble across brown grass,
coated in saw-dust from the chainsaw's blade,
small bits for kindling, they catch flame fast,
mix with bacon grease, fire-starters

Chopping Board

The chopping board gets cut upon every night and day
It doesn't moan or say whose wrong or right it's
        Just chopping boards way

Sitting in the corner silent waiting to be used

Premium MemberChopping Or Shooting

Chopping wood sounds like shots - gunshots.
If they are done right, and these are.

Chop. Chop. Chop.
I look up

Chopping an onion

Hold your breath and feel
My words a chopping of
An onion is more difficult

Chopping Some Ice

I had to chop some ice today
To free my snow-blocked car.
The sun was my assistant,
Helping soften from afar.

I borrowed from the handyman
A strong long-handled tool,
Which worked better than a shovel
And was really kinda cool.

It’s a gratifying feeling
To accomplish what you must
For when taking care of business,
Stress and worry bite the dust.
