Soft golden brown, so plain to see,
A solitary honeybee
Busy buzzing from bloom to bloom
No more bees though plenty of room.
Fireflies seem fewer anymore
Where thousands glowed in days of yore.
Passenger pigeons once filled skies
But ladies’ plumes brought their demise.
Stars still twinkle but seem less bright;
Driven dimmer by city light.
More children are alone at night
As deadbeat fathers take to flight.
Farms pass to graders and backhoes.
Concrete canyons grow row on row.
Thus is paid the price of progress:
We may have more by having less.
The world is such a busy place
When you meet people face to face
It seems that no one really cares
That's not true when love is there
Children all around the world
Love each other and you will see
The caring that is you and me
For love is international
Love will set you free
Kindness is the way to go
A universal language we all know
Do a good deed every day
God will lead you all the way
When you feel like giving up
Go to God and pray
Talk to Him every day
You will learn to walk with Him
He will Bless you through thick and thin
Hope is what He'll give to you
Through Jesus Christ
