Sleep my baby your mother is near,
Keeping your dreams from sadness and fear;
Sunlight’s asleep and bringing night,
Sleep my baby the moon shines her light.
Slumber my darling it’s time to find rest,
Holding you close, your face to caress;
Sleep my baby for I’ll keep you warm,
Holding you close to keep you from harm.
Rest my darling; all the world is asleep,
In my arms your dreams I will keep;
Pray that the angels will shine grace upon you,
Sleep my darling, the hours are few.
Awaken my baby for dawn’s early ray,
Finds birds that sing of a bright new day;
Bringing the glow of dawn’s early light,
And chasing away darkness of night.
Lullabye
All smelling sweet with powder and of milk
‘Tis time to cuddle in your cosy bed
Mid golden hair that feels like watered silk
Are kisses showered on your curly head
Now comes the hour when soft the lamplight glows
And casts an evening shadow on the wall
Your baby cheeks are lightly brushed with rose
No more the dew from drowsy eyelids fall
So hush now babe there is no fear of harm
To dreamland, drifting slowly, you will creep
The hands that hold you closely, safe and warm
Will rock you gently til you fall asleep
The clear blue eyes in peaceful slumber close
And little baby sleeps in sweet repose
Siblings:In my family there was just us three,an older brother, a middle sister and little ole
me.Our futures were determined by good ole mom and dad,As long as we done what we was
told nobody would get mad.The oldest,my brother, he was the brain. The middle child,my
sister would take away all the pain. Now being the baby i was to know right from wrong and
good from bad,all this taught to me by my brothet and sis.I didn't,i wouldnt always listen,oh
those days i do miss. This baby wishes she could turn back time.I dont know to where, but i do
know to when.I will listen this time...
Our Hannah with her snaggle tooth
Is prettier and that's the truth
Than any sultry movie star
Who gets her beauty from a jar.
She's just turned six years old and so
Her baby teeth are primed to go;
But one, reluctant to vamoose,
Just hangs in there, relaxed and loose.
Our Hannah doesn't seem to mind,
She is not the conceited kind
And has more things to think about
Than a laggard tooth, that won't fall out.
Those who have offered her assistance
Have met with six-year old resistance
And though our Hannah isn't vain
She has a low threshold for pain.
If you chance to see beguiling grin,
With a tooth that is more out than in,
You have seen our Hannah, there's no doubt.
With her baby tooth that won't fall out.
Once there was a reindeer,
that lived far away,
with a jolly old man,
and elves they say.
Not quiet as big,
as the other reindeer,
and when he walked by,
all the others would sneer.
He wanted to be,
an important dude,
so they would be nice,
and stop being so rude.
His mother told him,
be brave little one,
you are the baby of the bunch,
and my only deer son.
The day will come,
just mark my word,
you will fly through the sky,
like a bird.
Then it happened,
a freak snow storm,
something very unusual,
really out of the norm.
Climate change,
one deer yelled out loud,
as the fog got heavy,
covering the crowd.
The jolly man shreaked,
it's Christmas Eve,
we must get going,
it is time to leave.
Mamma's little boy,
was hiding, and crying near by,
and all the other deer,
said, "cry baby cry."
Embarrased, and hurt,
blushing from head to toe,
his big black nose,
started to glow.
The jolly man could see,
right through the haze,
with only the light,
that bright nose gave.
From then on out,
the jolly man made him boss,
for without his red nose,
the sleigh would get lost....
I saw the sun behind a cloud
its rays fanning out like a crown
making a simple rain cloud look majestic
I couldn't take my eyes off it.
Then the sun peeked out
as if to say, "Ready or not here I come!"
There was no place for me to hide
except under my trusty sun hat.
I saw a lady holding her baby
she'd wrapped him in a baby blanket
the sun sparkled on his cheeks
he must have been too warm.
The clouds raced across the sky
the sun jumping behind them
playing peek-a-boo
while the baby slept unawares.
The sunset was a beauty
golden pinks and sparkly blues
finally the baby yawned
it was time to go home.
