Premium Member Inequity Comes From This

Right-wing lies tie reason in knots
Vlad and friends feed rumor with bots
So, what is their end?
They need time to spend
More time with their own kind on yachts

Author’s note: We’re not talking ships under 200 feet. Forget that small stuff. The very rich crave a $0.00 tax bill, royal status, yachts worthy of kings, big private jets, and a series of walled off chateaux in a different resort areas (with servants). As we drift back toward feudal society at the direction of the super wealthy, they need to convince the majority that immigrants and progressives are causing the reduction in the common standard of living--it seems to be working.

If I Were a Foothill

If I were a foothill
I'd live in Tennessee
settled close would be a windmill
beside my dainty stream

I wouldn't be eroded
for a balance would be there
my soil would be loaded
and a terrace we could share

Even though I'd reside with plateaus
settled in the mass
people would live in chateaux
and play in my lofty grass

The certainty that I am piny
wouldn't matter in my plain
for even though I'm tiny
the mountains discern my name

Premium Member Long Long Ago

Those guys that lived centuries ago
More advanced than we thought, building chateaux
It has baffled our minds
Those were different times
Can't conceive of the feats in their portfolio

Premium Member To My Darling Daughter, As I Lay Me Down

As I lay me down to sleep, for the last and final time
I leave you, my daughter, with this testament's chime

No matter the temperature, no matter the weather, no matter the clime
Be it ever so nasty, be it fair-to-middling, or utterly sublime

Be grateful, my darling, for our sun's constancy, rising anew every day
For its steady course through the Heavens toward sunset, wending its way

Appreciate the warmth of a Spring morn and the Autumnal evening glow
Even bone-chilling Winter, huddled round the fire in a cozy chateaux

Thank your lucky stars for Summer's finery midst weather resplendent
View each drop of rain as a scion of its climactic rainbow ascendant

For when you fill your heart with gratitude for what in Nature's indelible
Sure you'll stir the soul of your betrothed with Love un-dispel-able

Premium Member Castle In the Air

No other country where I've been seems half so fair,
It's the land where I, in childhood, built my castles in the air.
James Kay Glasgow

 Castle in the Air

Can I see my Castle in the Air?
 No! Unlike a stone chateaux
it is a vision of rainbow light
floating on cloud meadows
Its four small words,
‘Castle in the air.'
 fashioned from wide dreams

I imagine vines from
enchanted woods, climb the walls
deep, green precious leaves.
Bright violets fill the undergrowth
in orchards of mist

Windows reflect infinity-
Deep puzzles of beginning and end
Expectation gleams on gold spires

I can only ask for myth

For Castles in the Air Contest.
