South Bank Centre
Nestled among the shining peaks
of flashing glass and girded steel,
gilded mansions enjoyed by sheiks;
who queue for nearby Ferris wheel;
near Parliament’s Gothic seat,
Shakespeare’s Elizabethan Globe,
It sits, grey, brutal, pure concrete
shameless without a cladded robe.
It’s naked beauty clads itself
around creativeness within.
I am it shouts, I am myself
without a falsifying skin.
With jutting angles, edges hard,
it’s beauty is more

Centre-Stage
Consider the man in the street if you will
what's he doing there standing stock-still
maybe like the chicken he's crossing the road
and half-way over with nothing better to do
only slowed to admire the view
perhaps he's pushing his luck
for remaining stationary no doubt about it
he'll be hit by a van car lorry or truck
let's hope it's not

The Centre Point
I arrived breath away, stepping out of a journey waiting not for fellow passengers with tedious conversations about Hemingway, Trump or AI
hot excitement dissolved into foreboding
pain, then shattered into peace ~ bliss on
cards, an endless journey had end after all
age equalled superfluous suffering
red ticks on calculus examination page
point of Excalibur

Thrust In The Centre Of The Storm All I Could See Was You
Serrated swathes of overwhelming savage gusts without compassion,
directionless dilatory daydreamer that I am ostensibly vulnerable,
to the serendipitous intrusion at a wispy sapphire cloud flaccid noon,
the minimal load burdensome midpoint idle tranquil saunter,
meteorological forecasts couched in plausible penetrating atmospheric vocabulary,
nebulous references to malfunction and teetering patterns sooth mutual misgivings,
imprudent

Thrust in the centre of the storm, all I could see, was you
The winds raged, the rain pelted
The air howled like a mad wolf, hungry for blood
Fright gripped me with ice cold claws
And I did not feel safe from inside my house
I armed myself with courage, aware that rainbows
Shall show themselves after some time
And the warmth of the sun
Shall allow me to wear my confidence again
As I

I Am The Centre Of The Universe
I give myself a staunch,
I even have my lunch,
I don't give a hunch,
But I give myself a munch,
I don't want to throw myself a punch,
I didn't resemble as such,
I didn't pronounce that much,
I give away to luck,
I found myself a prick,
I don't get myself sick,
I didn't know there was such a prank,
I want to be

Heart Centre
Seperate roads ever converged
Runways generousos in plentiful serge
Refining aligning elevated themes
Hit the strip with full sun beams
Spur impulsed gleaming freeway
Me at the wheel
The music YOU play
Refreshed revived with passionate fuel
Lust inexhaustible
We are unbeatable
Speedometer broken
Hearts in motion
Wheels rolling
Im still doting
Every word youve ever spoken
They all went in and we are

Forming the centre
Will you form with me at the centre.? Any colonials
Good and true..'Will you stand? To confront tyranny?
Here there is a place for you.! all you will need is courage..
And the will to see it through..Will you stand and form
The centre? as they think we still can't do.? Have you seen
Their ramparts cracking? as Hoody drops

Which sorted today’s lunchtime riddle
Then she rested her head
In a medium bed
Till three hungry bears made her tiddle

Our Kitchen Our Centre
Mug, porcelain, sunflowers
Steam rising in soft tendrils
Aroma filling the early morning
Eyes focus
The kitchen table, littered with parts of our life
Bills, diaries, Pills, inhalers, tissues
Art, books, homework, bags, phones
Pens, colouring pencils,
Cards for magic tricks
Glasses, hair ties, bobby pins
Our life on the kitchen table
Eyes drift around the kitchen,
Tidy, untidy, lived in
We cook, we clean, we laugh,

About my numbers the account and sales
You need to do this and that
Yes I shall do my best boss

To make the account better
First there is…
Next there is this…
Followed by this…
And lastly this…
Please see that this is done boss

Not Hopping
Not Hopping
Some trainers in the BPO industry
Have worked in 20 or 30 different places
Brian met 2 or more such trainers
Both had worked in dozens of centres
Between a month’s training and years
Finally settling down to train others
Being Hoppers no more job to job
Instilling their skills info knowledge
With wisdom guidance mind set
It takes skill to be a

Quite An Experience
Quite An Experience
They said the Philippines and Thailand
We're both Third World countries
Yet the glittering business centres
In Manila and Bangkok were superb
Among the world's finest in design
Bringing in top revenue
Employing the best minds
Pushing what was possible
Brian worked in both cities
In his six years and counting
He was quietly proud of his career
Always doing his best

Support War
Support War
Surprisingly it wasn't Brian's account
Where the war happened
It was bad and bitter and abrupt
The reps were struggling
Their job was hard not just calls
They weren't updated on their stats
A very important BPO metric
All got their info on this good or bad
Their Team Leader simply didn't tell them
Some stats are hourly some daily others monthly
The daily

Such Fun
Such Fun!
See the new cherries barge us in the call centre
They’re in the middle of being trained
I do my usual trick on them it works each time
I make sure I’m on a call and talking away
The new cherry is watching me intently
I suddenly stand up and say sit there
Take off my headphones put them on
Only
