Come back

Come back to the refuge; Lets take a trip inside. No shadow can see you here, the perfect place to hide. Come back to the refuge, the largest space of all. Theres room for all your hopes and dreams, so you can bring them all. Come back to the refuge, there's power you can find; Silence is the kingdom, lost somewhere behind your mind. Come back to the refuge, the great ones wait for you; Through white light to fields of green, and skies the bluest blue; Come back to the refuge, i know its been a while; But times a lie so please dont sigh, just come back with a smile! Come back to the refuge, do you still know the way? Let go of thinking without any effort, and sit like that all day. Come back to the refuge, put down those heavy bags! The present is a gift, it doesnt matter how its wrapped. Come back to the refuge, the journey is alone; but once your near, youl feel me here, because the refuge is my home...

Nestled among the shining peaks
of flashing glass and girded steel,
gilded mansions enjoyed by sheiks;
who queue for nearby Ferris wheel;
near Parliament’s Gothic seat,
Shakespeare’s Elizabethan Globe,
It sits, grey, brutal, pure concrete
shameless without a cladded robe.
It’s naked beauty clads itself
around creativeness within.
I am it shouts, I am myself
without a falsifying skin.
With jutting angles, edges hard,
it’s beauty is more honest than
the Pickle, Telephone, or Shard
I will forever be a fan.

Centre-Stage

Consider the man in the street if you will
what's he doing there standing stock-still
maybe like the chicken he's crossing the road
and half-way over with nothing better to do
only slowed to admire the view
perhaps he's pushing his luck
for remaining stationary no doubt about it
he'll be hit by a van car lorry or truck
let's hope it's not so as hearing them coming
the man in the street beats a hasty retreat
making hay he hits the ground running
and his narrow escape's a clean getaway
to dawdle or dilly-dally down all his days

I Am The Centre Of The Universe

I give myself a staunch,
I even have my lunch,
I don't give a hunch,
But I give myself a munch,
I don't want to throw myself a punch,
I didn't resemble as such,
I didn't pronounce that much,
I give away to luck,
I found myself a prick,
I don't get myself sick,
I didn't know there was such a prank,
I want to be frank,
I didn't want my heart to sink,
But give me a lamb shank,
For inhaling oxygen in the tank.

Heart Centre

Seperate roads ever converged
Runways generousos in plentiful serge

Refining aligning elevated themes
Hit the strip with full sun beams

Spur impulsed gleaming freeway
Me at the wheel
The music YOU play

Refreshed revived with passionate fuel

Lust inexhaustible
We are unbeatable

Speedometer broken
Hearts in motion

Wheels rolling
Im still doting

Every word youve ever spoken

They all went in and we are clear

The starting line be right here

Will you form with me at the centre.? Any colonials
Good and true..'Will you stand? To confront tyranny?
Here there is a place for you.! all you will need is courage..
And the will to see it through..Will you stand and form
The centre? as they think we still can't do.? Have you seen
Their ramparts cracking? as Hoody drops truth bombs true!
As Jhonny rose to the challenge.' As Riccardo stepped
Up too.' As the cabal is shocked and shaken still i'm
Calling out to you.' As we are waking in the millions! There
Is will and there is right, will you support your neighbour?
Will you; stand up and fight? Will the A D F stand with us.?
Its your people who were hurt, your own fathers mothers
Brothers, they treat your sisters just like dirt.' They built
The concentration camps, and coerced our Aboriginal people
Too.' caring not for any human life, but lied through; their teeth
Right.. through.!

She went for the bowl in the middle
Which sorted today’s lunchtime riddle
Then she rested her head
In a medium bed
Till three hungry bears made her tiddle

Our Kitchen Our Centre

Mug, porcelain, sunflowers
Steam rising in soft tendrils
Aroma filling the early morning

Eyes focus
The kitchen table, littered with parts of our life
Bills, diaries, Pills, inhalers, tissues
Art, books, homework, bags, phones
Pens, colouring pencils,
Cards for magic tricks
Glasses, hair ties, bobby pins
Our life on the kitchen table

Eyes drift around the kitchen,
Tidy, untidy, lived in
We cook, we clean, we laugh, we argue

This kitchen in all of its mess and turbulence
This kitchen is our centre

Improving

Improving
I had a good talk with the manager
About my numbers the account and sales
You need to do this and that

Yes I shall do my best boss
Here are my suggestions
To make the account better

First there is…
Next there is this…
Followed by this…
And lastly this…

Please see that this is done boss
So the account is smooth
Without issue or trouble

What a good meeting we had
I’m so glad the boss listened
Much will improve

Not Hopping

Not Hopping
Some trainers in the BPO industry
Have worked in 20 or 30 different places
Brian met 2 or more such trainers
Both had worked in dozens of centres
Between a month’s training and years
Finally settling down to train others
Being Hoppers no more job to job
Instilling their skills info knowledge
With wisdom guidance mind set
It takes skill to be a trainer
And something else to excel
Getting the next generation ready
Reps support trainers OMs

Quite An Experience

Quite An Experience
They said the Philippines and Thailand
We're both Third World countries
Yet the glittering business centres
In Manila and Bangkok were superb
Among the world's finest in design
Bringing in top revenue
Employing the best minds
Pushing what was possible
Brian worked in both cities
In his six years and counting
He was quietly proud of his career
Always doing his best getting average scores
Sometimes the highest never low
Except in the early days
When he was a new cherry
A German in Asia doing a new job
He came here for a gal
Long long ago it went from there
Flitting between countries working
Not on holiday or chilling out
Using 21st century systems
Taught by committed trainers
In time becoming a good rep
Aged in his forties and fifties
Keeping up with agents
Half his age in work and drinking
In a million years when
Brian died he would look back
And think was all that real
It was quite an experience

Such Fun

Such Fun!
See the new cherries barge us in the call centre
They’re in the middle of being trained
I do my usual trick on them it works each time
I make sure I’m on a call and talking away
The new cherry is watching me intently
I suddenly stand up and say sit there
Take off my headphones put them on
Only one guy ever put them on
All the rest were terrified to do so
Or even sit in the live hot seat
I say you’re to show me what to do
We’ll see what you know as I’m new
What fun it works every time
Fun at the new cherries’ expense

Centre Court

Centre Court in England
Would take center stage in Queens.
The placement of the e and r
Revels the way one leans.

The same applies to colors.
Seems that Brits are very fond
Of that u that colors do not have
On this side of the pond.

I recognize these differences
(In Britain recognise)
Should cause no offense/ offence
In any English speaker’s eyes.

how gloweth thine eye
in this sadness of sunlight…
where trees cease shaking
woodland rests with bated breath
wryly squirrels search for home

Gentle Sway By the Centre

Gentle sway by the centre

The bell tolls for thee
Most Gracious servant
bearing thou to thy deserved rest
And as thou art earthly borne by men of the sea
our prayers that flights of angels
have now carrieth thee to the merciful throne
of our heavenly Father,
through him who hast shown
the Way, the Truth and the Life
Where we commend thy eternal soul –
forgiven, pardoned and received –
to the tabernacle of light prepared for thee
Wither thou goest
may we attain the same gracious gift
when we are callest to lie upon the catafalque
and are escorted to our place of rest.
