Touch Earth Grapes

Tonight I raise my chalice
to the scent of this old cabin
to a mourning dove’s
pleasant sorrow
to the common touch
of all people
to the world’s heart
where all dwells

Tonight I drink to the earth
to the thread of its axis
to the centerline of creation

Tonight I drink
because this wine is the weeping
of so many red grapes

Mind Altering

Want to excite you inside out

By the time you realize

you're turned on, you'll

already be turned out.

Slide my finger

down your mind's centerline,

then zigzag between

creativity and impossibility

making your excitement

unbearable to even think

Your reaction is starting

to peak.  Touching you

so well, it almost feels

terrible cause you want to be

touched with more x's and o's

you need a play by play.

I came to make you whole

without falsifying reasons.

Like Levert I have a love

for all seasons.

Next to, on top of,

inches away or locked

away in memories

I want you thinkin of me

Your dream state lover

giving you the coordinates

to unbelievable destinations.

Set sail with me

as we journey towards

a place only words

can put in view.

I want to have a psychedelic

climax from touching you.

The Beautiful Game

The Beautiful Game

Stepping on the field
This belongs to me
It is where
I am in control.

Long before I came here
I have prepared for this day
I reach down
Pluck the grass from the earth
Feel the energy of the moment

Nothing else matters now
It’s only about this
This is the beginning
The beginning of something great

Walk to the centerline
Turn and view the pitch.
The others who stand with me
In this battle
Prepared for what is to come.

I see the same in them
As I feel
No one else understands
They cannot share this

This is our fight
It is our moment
It is what we know
What we live for

The whistle sounds
 Ball advances
It has begun

The Beautiful Game

Free Land

Beyond the paved two-lane with its solid centerline,
and bounded by NO TRESPASS signs;
beyond the turn-off onto gravel and the last barking dog
who keeps pace with my hubcap;

to a landing where I park my car and walk away:
no signs of ownership, no gate.
Just a path that skirts a swale; up to a clearing
fringed with black-oak blazing green.

I push through underbrush thick
with deadfall leaves, beyond where miners dug
and gouged and left it all behind.
Land no one has tamed.

Abruptly, I’m at the edge of canyon.
Far below, the river churns from upcountry,
down granite, grinding its way west.
No vineyard terraces, no homes with a view.

Just the wild lavender of distance
verging into forest viridian. Land owned by none
and everyone, where, if I watch my step,
I can still walk free.

Origami Lips

Let us play a game
With my bamboo lips!
My wet-folded,
Scarlet colored mouth.
There’s no math
Required, just the
Essence of your French kiss.
Don’t you worry,
I won’t give you any paper cuts.

Take my lips’ corners
And fold them with
Your love,
Then gently squash them
With your own.
Reach inside their
Centerline,
Till you get the perfect figure!
Hold them down
And tattoo your heart on them,
While you even all
My creases.

At one point you’ll get the moans,
Gently folding them again!
My bamboo lips
Are all that’s needed,
The edges pucker up in kiss!
Repeat the motions
Several times
To ensure my heart is yours!

And there you have it,
My entire splendor,
Captured in my origami lips!

Last Ride

Eighteen wheels roll down a highway
on the other side of time
where a dark and ghostly shadow moves
along the centerline
As he rolls across tomorrow
through that final border town
hear the distant fading thunder as
he puts the hammer down
Where there no ropes or fences
no more dispatch on the phone
just a free and easy spirit
on his final journey home
He'll never face another heartache
he'll not shed another tear
now reaching out through destiny
he shifts his final gear
As he rides beyond the sunset
he waves his last goodbye
and now he rolls across forever
on that highway in the sky!
