it happened one
dawn not even
on the end of
the Mayan
calander
the sun broke
Nature's Y2K
all clocks
stopped
ticking
butterflies became moths
flowers smelled foul
rock became
liquid so
i threw
in the towel
and caught
a tidal wave
that took
me out
to the bluest sea
i'd ever seen as
night and day
embraced
as the sky
became grey and stayed
that way for the
amazingly
long time
of
eternity

LATE TO WORK BUT I'M OFF ON SATURDAY
A single man from Texas;
Woke up late for breakfast;
Said his prayers, read a bible verse
Took a shower, in ice-cold water;
Got dressed;
Put on a tie and vest;
He got out the closet;
Had to hurry, so he wouldn't be late;
Went to the garage;
Open the door.
Sat in the car;
My Lexus;
Took the freeway;
Arrived to work late;
Got to my office;
Looked at the calander, realised I was off...
Cause it's Saturday???

EDGE
Fredonia Kansas
1969
It has been three months now
And our world
Did not end.
As foretold in some
smoking tea leaves
seeped from an ancient Peruvian calander
that crops up now and then.
Wasn't it all from the offering
of Virgin's sacrafice
to the--the Gods?
And of some other alien Peruvian native
blood, all of them transgendered
from a super race of
Gloimitas who lived
on their doomed planet
over a million light years
from our own light and time of today.
Not round, No No No
not round, but flat
really flat just like our own was
some time ago we forgot about.
And then one day
they thought their world was ending
when they just fell off
the edge.

I'm sick of being the back up friend.
The third wheel to your duo.
It's been like this since we were kids.
I know, you all have busy lives.
Do you think I don't?
My calander is covered,
And yet I still find time to see you.
Sometimes,
I go out of my way, to make it work.
I thought that's what friends did.
But when it's your turn,
You bail.

Places to go things to see
It's all about the newness
Spring brings
City to City
State to State
Buds blooming
Events taste
Lauhgter abounding
The best from the children
Summer vacations
Calander unbending
Learning pass downs
Called family tree tunes
Pictures to keep for all seasons
Shaking the spirit
In breez
Spare Moment (VLB)

Misery on a Summer's Day
I notice that it slips away to grey.
The clocks they tick away.
Misery, Misery. dying reflections of what used to be.
I was her dove, she was my dream.
It's now a million years till my queen.
I remember how we used to be.
I showed her who was really me.
Not afraid of my queen.
We are a million tears from teens.
Misery, Misery, the pain has not gone away.
I remember the sunny days.
The calander, it slips to May.
I will get you back someday.
