Responsibilities

Oh, my wish—to falter beneath my burdens,
To drown in failure’s cold embrace,
To be lost in the wreckage of my own undoing,
Yet rise, undead, from catastrophe’s face.

We are but fools, deceived by victory,
Blind to the lessons the struggle bestows.
We march ahead, neglecting the path,
Ignoring the wisdom that suffering knows.

I seek the hush in a world of sound,
Oh, to be free from these earthly bounds!
I lack the knowledge, the pulse of humanity,
A scavenger lost in the ruins of vanity.

Today I lay, wrapped in shame,
Grappling with the weight of blame.
Is it fate, or is it mine—
This burden carved in the hands of time?

HOPE

When in a night
so dark, scary and lonely,
With your heart so burdened and uptight,

When your claim, ' small me - big God,'
makes you feel like your prayers
are nothing more than an ant's whispers
in an elephant's ear - useless.

When you feel tired and worthless,
like one fourth the tree remaining in the ground
while a third of it is cut down,
Do not not lose hope, remember he says,

"For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease."
Christ will revitalize you.

Burdened By What Has Been

Each moment
The addition of a trillion bits of information
Like compounding interest
On the rest of eternity

POSTLIFE TIME

Found herself long in the tooth
Burdened with responsibilities
As the clock kept ticking
Being hospitable began to wane
Regardless of hope keeping in touch

Working harder had become symbolic
For she had a negligible threshold
That supremely played a crucial part
A part in soaking all the fitness up
Until she lost the spiritedness

Did all she accessed for the fruits
Bore all the affliction of misfortune
Spoke many languages to herself
Walked long miles wall-to-wall
But couldn't control her fate

This heightened sensivity was a sword
Double-edged through the feelings
At times sympathy was highly valuable
The blues discerned from the seeds
The high sensitivity to others' emotions

Amid such grief, she's into being mellow
Avoided and crossed numerous arrows
The Omniscient providing for her with pillow
Here comes the relief, there goes the sorrows
Behold, it's time for the land to remain fallow

The Burdened Poet

The poet stands in the court of thought,
Accused of wielding the pen as sword,
Charged with crafting truths unbought,
With words that strike and chords that chord.

Guilty of exposing the soul’s bare form
Of unraveling the unseen seam,
The poet faces the judgment storm
For venturing in the concealed realm
For daring to dream or to utter the unspoken.

Burdened by Secrets

Some secrets my soul have burdened and some I will take to my grave. But secrets involving people’s lives, have entrapped me in a cave. I am constantly worried sick and my black hair has turned grey.

Should I reveal the truth? What do I have to lose, or what good will I gain? I walk with a smile on my face, but the secrets I keep will bring others pain.

My true spirit runs wild, to guilt I can’t be enslaved. Is it fair to leave others in darkness, without shedding light on the truth? Or should I avoid causing harm and suppress the truth in its youth?

With chains I feel I am binded, but desperately need to break free. My heart tells me to speak, but my thoughts with my heart disagree . I wish I could break my binds and let the truth set me free.

My poor soul lives in despair, as my worry has reached it’s peek. I humbly ask the good Lord for guidance and his wisdom I do seek. If not for his mercy, I would have certainly died of fatigue.

The Love of a Burdened Soul

When pain mixes with pleasure therein lies a river,
Moving water that carries the emotion of memories faded,
Lost in time
Buried within mind
Lying in wait to remind how love may strip you limb by limb every time.

As these lost parts are never found
We move from saints to thieves
Replacing what we need with the parts of who they are meant to be.
As if ripping cotton from their sleeves a midst a winter storm in which all we see is broken limbs and falling leaves,
We dance a dance meant to be done by the burning hands of hellish fiends.

Standing face to face with liquid pain frozen to our cheeks,
We continue this dance in aquatic reign from places meant to see.

The Burdened Mind

Taste not the souring within thy heart
Let your blood flow with sweet memories
If this taste becomes sour sweeten it with love
Love will concur all that will agree with the soul
For hate only blinds and captures your mind
Why waste thy love without a return
It then becomes trash for them to burn
Flee and fly among the stars up above
Then sore as an eagle and become a dove
Let not the heart be in this burden of pain
For life without your life is only, there gain
Wipe thy tears from thy eye stand tall above all
They are below you no matter, they will fall
God gave you this gift why throw it away
Live for today and play this game another day
Death is forever among the living
Let not them take this beautiful life given
Thoughts of hurt burdens the mind
But death is forever so clear,

The Mind

Heavy

A mass weighs on me
Heavy clouds seeking to be free
Thick and grey the eye can not see

Flash

Rocketing streaks of electricity
Pounding bolts in a crazy spree
Uncontrollable sparks shoot from me

Fallen

Sunken low it won’t release
Smothered suffocated it cannot see
Drowned below seeking to be free

Reach

Shooting from a cloud below
High in the sky like freak show
Extended hands pushed back in row

Breath

Drops of fallen water
Tears of release that bit lighter
Dark and gloomy a little brighter

Release

Just let it go
Stop the show
Be free and grow

You were love’s surprise versed in romantic delight.
Your love secured me cuddled and rapport entwined
each time our hearts took time to flesh comfort align.
I felt our lives were meant to fast coupledom attach
in our own signature dressed, love expressed indicators.

Then, time witnessed and felt our adhesiveness contort
from the soul corrosion you brought and skewed forth
to seal us in burdened versions of darkened emotions.
I live suspended between a confused sphere retreat
and a subconscious residence in Neverland’s release.

Burdened

I have been touched
Impressed, by you
Have emotions spoken over my logic?
Harsh in tone and impulsive in decision
Never have I known this much confusion
Of matters of the heart,
Let my mind speak before my heart,
Otherwise my eyes will cry before my heart sings
You held my heart above me
Until I rose to meet it
But you are not touched by me
You cannot love me.
Yet you understand how to love me
This love cannot love me
Where is my old ball and chain?
Yours, used up and rusty by she before me
Rusted in memory of times been and gone
My ball oiled in present and future
And nothing but a chain that threatens the unrealised and the futile

A Word To the Burdened

Escape the chains that rob you so
for your story that has gone untold
the pain you felt, the lies you fold
the scares you bare, the hate you hold
Fore the strength in you, that you confine
remains hidden deep down somewhere inside
can crush that strife, you try to hide
you have the will, just find the pride
break the shackles that bind your mind
for faith to overcome will come in time
leave your life of woes behind
to live in darkness, greatest of crimes
enter the light, let it blind your eyes
embrace your past, find compromise
for what does not kill you, feeds your resolve
and no longer will you be at odds
but above your hardships, day to day
escape the chains, stop running away

Burdened

Rocks bleed mud under the weight of my soles.
My determined step
…gouges the Earth’s wounds.

I am probably a parasite when I think about it.

…Just a pain, for this place to deal with.

All of us are.

My mind wants to go somewhere else.
….Escape this fleshy tomb.

Yet, the harder I kick my feet
…the faster I find my way back.

Paradoxical really.

Fighting to get
…nowhere.

Searching
…to be lost.

Screaming for peace.

Sense was lost a long time ago.

Tracks lain
…are scarred memories.

Calloused hands of time,
tick fiercely forward.

I chase a destiny I’m not fond of.

…Discovery is cheap when everything
feels the same.

Burdened.

Premium MemberWhen You'Re Burdened

Its often said the hour is always darkest,
just before the coming of the dawn.
But if we lift our eyes up to the heavens,
Christ will give us strength to carry on.

While in this life we'll go through many valleys,
while in this life it's sure some rain must fall.
But question not the Lord, up in heaven,
for sure He has the answer to it all.
